My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 2002

Jennifer drove into a fancy neighborhood in the suburbs.

Although this was where plenty of rich and famous people lived, it was still inferior to the neighborhood she lived in.

Hendrix's driver drove carefully. He parked in front of another house, which was 50 meters away from Jennifer's car. There was a wooden fence between us. She could see the car, but she wouldn't know that it was one that belonged to the Roberts.

Jennifer rushed out of her car without locking it. She ran towards the villa with her bag and knocked on the door.

As the door opened, a bearded man stepped out. After saying a few words to each other, the man moved aside to allow Jennifer inside.

"Who is that man?" I asked.

Hendrix was smiling as though everything was going according to plan. "I don't know," he said calmly.

Before I even opened my mouth, he said, "But we'll know soon."

After that, he shouted, "Evan."

Evan understood and whispered to the driver, "Let's drive home."

This confused me. I couldn't help but wonder if Hendrix had actually lost his memories.

If he hadn't lost them, why would he let Aaron and I make things difficult for him at home? Even the children could push him around.

If he had, how was he able to predict Jennifer's next move in advance?

The more I thought about it, the more flustered I became, until the car stopped at our house. I couldn't help but stop Hendrix before he got out of the car.

He paused for a moment before returning to his seat. He turned around with a spark in his eyes and said, "We get to see Aurelia at our home. Be happy."

I teased him and said, "Her uncle has raised her for all these years, and you weren't there. She can live without you for a day."

As I said that, I tried to get up by using his arm. But Hendrix's face fell all of a sudden and then withdrew his hand in the blink of an eye.

I heard a cold snort from above me. When I raised my head again, I saw Hendrix walking away angrily.

I pursed my lips helplessly. This man's temper was much more unpredictable than the weather in June. It changed every minute!

Evan helped me down from the car.

"He has forgotten a lot of things. He's moody because of the uncertainties in his heart. Please don't take it personally."

If Evan hadn't said this, I would have forgotten that these two men had been inseparable since the first time they met. No one else knew Hendrix better than he did.
