My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 1812

Everyone was happy to see such a heartwarming scene. Right after, Serene and Milleon went back to their respective groups.

My attention was entirely on Serene, but there were too many guests around. In the blink of an eye, I had lost sight of her. It was only after Emma reminded me that I realized she had left through the back door.

Not long after Serene left, Milleon came over with his check. He reeked of alcohol.

"Miss Reid, I'm very satisfied with what happened today. This is your reward, take it!"

As he said that, he stuffed something into my hand.

I looked down and ogled at the piece of paper that was worth a hundred and fifty million dollars. Although I knew that Milleon wasn't short of money, I was still shocked regardless.

This case was a claim. According to legal law, a minimum of thirty percent of the compensation fee was to be collected. Even if Milleon paid the hundred million dollars as promised, he still gave more than what was required. This was truly distressing.

"Mr. Koch, isn't this too much?" I said gloomily.

"Don't worry about it. Miss Reid, you guys have done me such a big favor. You deserve this. As we have previously agreed upon, the excess belongs to you as well. Here, don't feel bad, just take it!"

"Are you serious?" Milleon's face dropped. "I didn't know about that!"

He was stunned for a moment, then he clenched his fists and struck his other palm while he lamented bitterly, "Hey! I was only following the traditions of my family, where the other party would have to drink as an apology. If I had known this earlier, I wouldn't have made things so difficult for her!"

Aaron patted him on the shoulder with an evil smile spreading across his face. "It's all right. She deserves it. You don't need to feel guilty!"

"How can you say that? This had nothing to do with the lawsuit at all. Alright, Miss Reid, Mr. Reid, the both of you can continue to enjoy yourself here. I'll head over to the hospital right now, or else I'll be running late!"
