My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 1510

Shirley called the nanny and queried about her son, Dannie. When she heard that Dannie was fine, she calmed down and wanted to call Irvin. I stopped her.

"If he really wanted to know where you are, I'm sure that once you turn on the phone, he would have called. Don't call him right now. Don't keep on thinking about him. Instead, you should do something else to divert your attention, okay?"

It seemed like Irvin didn't return home last night, so he probably didn't realize that she wasn't home. I couldn't tell what he was thinking, so I could only convince Shirley to be herself.

Perhaps Irvin admired the old Shirley. If he hadn't, he would not have chosen to get engaged to her. Shirley's parents weren't the only good businessmen in Mesville. Irvin must have had a reason for choose Shirley over other women.

Freya arrived in an eye-catching mink coat and a handbag worth more than a million dollars. She even had on a set of precious jewelry that she used to keep as a collection. I was stunned by her appearance.

"Are you here to show off your wealth?" The jewelry alone was worth tens of millions, nearing the price of a house. Was this how rich people behaved?

She chuckled. "I haven't left the house in ages, just like these jewelry, so I was too excited. I couldn't stop myself from wearing all the things I can keep on me. You don't understand."

"Chloe? Why did you go looking for her?"

It was difficult to talk to Hendrix about this. I thought for a while and responded, "She had lung cancer. I think she got it in Hanlusia City, so I asked you to investigate the Saunders' chemical plant back then. It's too much of a coincidence. Anne and Chloe were both diagnosed with cancer. This indicates that there's something wrong with Saunders' factory. I suspect that there are more workers that might have health issues."

I knew that Hendrix and I should not intervene in the business of the Saunders family. However, there were so many people in the chemical plant. Those people had been suffering; they worked hard all their lives to improve their financial situations. But once they got diagnosed with cancer, all their efforts and hardships would be in vain, which would even affect their families and children.
