My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 1509

We went to a cafe for breakfast.

"Why were we there this morning? What did you take me there for?" Shirley asked once she had gotten over her hangover.

"I didn't know where to bring you, so I took you there for the night."

The corners of her mouth twitched. "So? Did you leave your bank card there as payment?"

I nodded.

She was astonished and wanted to ask more, but I cut her off. "What are you going to do later?"

She kept quiet. After a moment of silence, she said, "I don't know what to do."

"Do you have a bank card with you?" I asked her.

She nodded, "Yeah!"

"Perfect. Let's go to the beauty salon, and then the shopping mall next."

She was astounded but nodded in response. She stared at me and added, "My child is still at home."

"Is there a nanny?"

She nodded and said, "Yes, I have stopped breastfeeding. I informed the nanny when I left home yesterday."

I chuckled. "Okay, stop joking around. Hurry up. My friend and I will be waiting for you here."

After hanging up, Shirley and I drank coffee while we waited for Freya at a cafe.

Seeing that Shirley was a little absent-minded, I could not help probing. "What's wrong? What are you thinking about?"

"I'm a little worried about my child. I didn't return home for the entirety of last night, but I did not get any calls on my phone. Irvin did not call me at all. Do you think it's because he doesn't care what I do at all?"

She looked at her mobile phone wistfully. I sighed and suggested, "You should call the nanny and ask her for updates about your child. As for Irvin, don't worry about him. It's not important whether he cares about you or not. You have lost yourself for so many years. You should do something for yourself and make yourself better. Don't think about anything else."

It was too meaningless to pursue romantic love blindly. There were so many more possibilities in life. Why did she choose the path that caused her the most misery?
