Vivian laughed, "I would never be shy with Uncle Charles."
Charles and Thelma truly were the epitome of the perfect couple in the entertainment industry. They opted not to have children, and their careers continued to flourish.
When Vivian arrived at Galaxy Villa, she was greeted by a pile of packages at the door—items she had ordered the day before for Manfred.
Shopping in Jipsburg was incredibly convenient. She could place an order one day, and it often arrived the next. The longest wait was just three days.
Vivian carried the packages inside and unpacked them, checking everything was there. Satisfied, she quickly packed the items into a bag.
Just as she finished tidying up, Edgar arrived.
"Vivian, I've missed you so much! Why didn't you tell me in advance you were coming home?" Edgar said, holding two large grocery bags filled with fresh ingredients he'd picked up on his way.
It was a rare occasion for Vivian to be home, and Edgar intended to make all her favorite dishes. When Vivian saw him, she immediately ran to hug him. "I missed you too, Edgar."
This semester had been hectic for Vivian. Between schoolwork and activities, she hadn't visited home as often, and opportunities to see Edgar were few and far between.
"Wait here. I'll make your favorite sandwiches and a few other dishes. You've lost weight this semester, and it breaks my heart to see you like this," Edgar said, his eyes welling with tears. His affection for Vivian was like that of a loving grandfather.
At the mention of sandwiches, Vivian's face lit up. "Let me help you make them."
"No, you don't need to. While you're home, your only job is to rest. I've already bought everything; it won't take long. Be a good girl and relax," Edgar insisted, not wanting her to do anything, especially with all the assignments and projects piling up at school. She had so much on her plate, leaving her drained and thinner than before.
"She came?" He quickly got out of bed and opened the door, peering into the yard. But there was no sign of her. She had already gone.
He frowned. He regretted having fallen into such a deep sleep.
Returning to the room, he walked over to the two bags and began to unpack them.
Inside were numerous items, some of which he had never seen before. At first, he had been surprised, but now, he had grown accustomed to accepting these unfamiliar things without much reaction.
An hour later, Vivian returned with a plate of sandwiches in hand.

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
