My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul novel Chapter 1622

Joe mentioned that Paul had taken two days off and wasn't answering his phone. Concerned, he decided to check on him in person.

When Joe arrived at Paul's apartment, Barbara was home, but Paul hadn't returned since leaving the day before. It appeared Paul was missing.

Joe had already sent people out to search for him. Upon hearing the news, Skylar joined Joe in analyzing Paul's situation.

Surveillance footage from Paul's apartment complex showed him leaving the previous day. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary, and there was no indication he was being followed.

Paul, a seasoned martial artist in excellent shape, wouldn't be an easy target for an abduction. Yet his disappearance and the lack of contact raised serious concerns.

"It's been less than 48 hours since he left. I'm not sure we can call the police yet," Skylar said cautiously.

Joe's expression grew serious. "We should report it now."

Just as they were about to head out with Barbara to file a missing persons report, Paul suddenly called. But it wasn't Joe or Barbara he called—it was Skylar.

Skylar hesitated briefly before answering, "Mr. Ziegler, where are you right now?"

"I don't feel right. I have been restless these past few days, but I think I've finally calmed down. I believe I've been affected by negative items. I couldn't stay at home, so I went to a park near my place. Here, I feel much more at ease," Paul's voice came through, raspy and drained.

Skylar immediately responded, "We're coming to get you."

Occasionally, elderly people could be seen exercising on some of the outdoor equipment. After walking a short distance, they spotted Paul sitting on a bench by a man-made lake. His hands were pressed against his head.

From his posture alone, it was clear that he was in considerable pain. Joe's expression turned serious.

Skylar, equally concerned, felt a gnawing unease. On the way over, she had wondered what Paul meant by "negative items" and how they could have affected him so deeply.

She had known Paul for years; he wasn't one to get involved with such things.

"Paul?" she called out softly.
