Bound To My Mafia Stepuncles novel Chapter 91

Chapter 91

Aria’s POV

I was sitting in the living room, the envelope still clutched in my hands. The papers inside were scattered on the coffee table, and I couldn’t seem to make sense of them. I had hoped the envelope would be something light, maybe just another boring document or a letter, but it wasn’t. It was so much more, and my heart felt like it was slowly sinking with every word I read.

The documents were personal. Very personal. There were things in there about my life that I hadn’t even told the tripletsthings about my family, my past, things I had tried to forget. Things I didn’t want to face.

My father’s history, things he had been involved in that I had no idea about. There were even reports about my mother, financial issues, debts 1 never knew about. How could I not know about any of this? Why hadn’t they told me?

I felt my hands start to shake as I held the papers in my lap. I could feel the tightness in my chest, the way my breath quickened as the anger bubbled up inside me. I had trusted them, all of them, and now it felt like they had been hiding things from me. Things I should’ve known. Things that should have been mine to understand.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I didn’t want to overreact, but I couldn’t shake this feeling of betrayal. My family had kept so many secrets. My own blood, the people I had been told to trust the most, had done this to me. I thought of all the times I had trusted them, leaned on them, and it felt like a lie. They never trusted me enough to tell me the truth.

A loud knock on the door broke my thoughts, and I looked up to see the triplets walking into the room. I quickly shoved the papers back into the envelope, hiding them from view. But it was too late. They had already seen the distress on my face, the way I was holding my breath as if trying to stop myself from breaking down.

Enzo’s eyes were the first to soften. He walked over to me, his expression filled with concern. Aria, what’s wrong? You looklike you’ve seen a ghost.

I shook my head, forcing myself to stand up. It’s nothing,I said quickly, trying to brush it off. I didn’t want them to know. I didn’t want them to see the hurt I was feeling. But I wasn’t fooling anyone.

Matteo stepped forward, his brow furrowed as he looked at me. What’s in the envelope, Aria?he asked, his voice calm, but there was a slight edge to it. Like he already knew something was wrong.

I didn’t want to tell them. I didn’t want them to know that I had found out about all the secrets they’d been hiding from me. But as Matteo’s eyes stayed locked on mine, I felt my walls crumble. It’s just/about me,I muttered, my voice shaking. About my family. About everything you didn’t tell me.

I saw the flicker of guilt in Dante’s eyes. He stepped forward, his face darkening with a hint of regret. Aria,he started softly, his hand reaching out to touch my shoulder, we never meant to hurt you.

I pulled away, shaking my head. You think this doesn’t hurt me? You think I wouldn’t find out? Why would you feel the need to dig into my past, into my family’s business? Why didn’t you just ask me? Why didn’t you trust me enough to tell me?

The words rushed out, each one more painful than the last. I felt like I couldn’t stop them, like they had been building up for so long that now, all I could do was lash out.

Dante, Enzo, and Matteo exchanged looks, their expressions tight with guilt. Enzo took a step closer, his tone soft, yet Aria, it’s not what you think. It’s routine for anyone who gets close to us. We had to make sure you were safe, that there was nothing in your past that could come back to haunt you. We didn’t want you to get hurt.

I felt my chest tighten even more. Safe? Was this their idea of keeping me safe? By digging into my life without asking? The anger inside me burned hotter. Safe?I laughed bitterly, shaking my head. You invaded my privacy! You invaded my whole life. And you didn’t even think to tell me why?

Matteo stepped in then, his face a little more guarded. It wasn’t personal, Aria. We’re just trying to protect you. We never meant for you to find out this way.

Chapter 91

I couldn’t take it anymore. I shoved the envelope back into my hands and stood up, backing away from them. I don’t need your petection & don’t need you to dig into my past to protect me!I yelled, my voice shaking with emotion. You’ve crossed a line, and I can’t just forget that

The room fell silent, the tension thick enough to cut through. I could see the hurt in their eyes, but the anger in me was stronger, I wasn’t going to back down this ilme. Not after everything I’d read in that envelope.

Without waiting for any more apologies, I turned on my heel and stormed out of the room. I could feel their eyes on me, but I didn’t care. I needed space. I needed to be alone.
