My father was furious.
"Look at what you’ve become! We’ve spoiled you rotten!"
Seeing Gina’s bloodthirsty look, my father roared:
"What? Do you even want to hit your father now?"
It was like Gina had just realized something. A strange smile curled on her lips.
"Dad, how could I bear to hit you?"
"My son is the future sole heir of the Hardin Group. Of course, I’ll take good care of you."
Seeing her finally speak her true intentions, my father’s face flushed with rage.
"Dream on! Even if Gloria goes abroad, she is still my biological daughter. We haven’t severed ties yet!"
"I’m calling my lawyer right now to write my will. After I die, you, Gina, won’t get a single cent of the Hardin family’s wealth!"
"I’m cutting ties with you!"
My father took out his phone, but before he could dial, Gina slapped it out of his hand.
She lifted her foot and crushed his phone beneath her heel.
"Dad, in the past 25 years, you and Mom loved me the most. We are family. You want to abandon me and give everything to that useless Gloria? No way!"
"I’ve served you for all these years. As an adopted daughter, I still have inheritance rights. You can’t strip me of that!"
"Serve you? What a joke!"
My mother couldn’t stand it anymore.
"From childhood, we never let you suffer a single tear or a bit of exhaustion. You had a driver when you went out, and a maid at home. On the other hand, Gloria, she’s been through a lot of hardship since she was little."
"Are you jealous of her? Have you ever thought about the fact that she is our biological daughter? If it weren’t for her being swapped at birth, where would you have this good life?"
"Not only are you ungrateful to her, but you’re also jealous of her, almost running her over with a car! Even so, we’ve still been biased in your favor, even deceiving Gloria. And this is how you repay us?"
"Mom! You’ve been against covering for me for five years and still say you’re not biased toward Gloria!"
Gina had never yelled at her mother like this before. My mother was so shocked she clutched her chest, her face turning purple.
"Mom!"
James quickly got up to get medicine, but my father, enraged, slapped Gina across the face.
"Look at what you’ve done! If something happens to your mom, I’ll throw you out immediately!"
Since childhood, Gina had never been touched by them.
That slap made her completely lose her mind.
"Gina, after everything Mom and Dad did for you, you actually killed them! I’m calling the police…"
James's eyes were bloodshot, and before he could finish speaking, Gina grabbed the nearby ashtray and smashed it against his head.
Before he could even scream in agony, Gina kept smashing it on James until he no longer moved.
"You shameless man, you really think you're Gloria's person now? Go die."
She knew she couldn’t escape the death penalty, so she had no fear left.
When I received a call from the butler, it was early in the morning.
He told me that Gina had set fire to the villa, and even her five-year-old son hadn’t survived.
I was shocked, but when I thought about Gina's spoiled, selfish nature and temper, it wasn’t hard to understand.
My parents and James had only brought this upon themselves.
They deserved it.
Three months later, my legs had completely healed, and I could stand and walk again.
I returned to the country to take custody of my parents’ ashes, and I also inherited the shares of the Hardin Group left behind by my father.
My new life was about to begin.
