However, I knew that I could not mention a single word to him.

I stood up and sneered. "Are you begging me, Leonard? If you are, don't you think you should at least look the part?"

"I'm warning you!" Leonard replied coldly.

I suppressed the bitterness welling up in me and forced myself to say calmly, "Doing all that just to warn me? Looks like your fiancée means a lot to you..."

"It's good that you know it."

However, when I thought about how he had only met up with Phoebe once during the few days that I had trailed him, and how they had not acted too affectionately, 

I could not help asking, "Do you love her a lot?"

"What do you think?"

I met his gaze before saying with a slight smile, "I suppose I should be happy for my sister, then. How lucky she is to be able to meet a wonderful man like your, Mr. Nell. It's such a shame that she'll be using something that I've discarded..."

As Leonard listened to me, his eyes darkened, taking on a slightly terrifying look. He did not act up, though.

"I don't want to waste time talking about this rubbish. Just remember to keep your mouth shut, or else..."

His overbearing tone angered me. I purposely said, "Or else? Are you going to kill me?"

"I'll eat you up, Queena!"

With that, he wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me against him so tightly that I could barely breathe.

Our sudden proximity made my heart race again.

I struggled a little, not wanting to lose myself in him so weakly again.

"So, Mr. Nell, should I wish you the best in advance?" I turned to look at Leonard with a forced smile.

"Behave yourself. You should know where to draw the line," Leonard said coldly.

"Draw the line?"

I chuckled and turned to leave. If they had known where to draw the line, would they have treated me like that?

My emotions were still in a turbulent state when I got into the car. I could not calm myself down as I thought of the next step in my plan.

This conflict with Leonard had not helped matters. All it had done was add to my hatred.

I started the car. For some reason, all I could think of were steamy scenes from my past with Leonard.
