Obviously, he did not care about me. He had gone to such lengths to dump me for Phoebe's sake. Why was I still so hung up on him?
As I was driving, May suddenly called me.
"Where are you?" she asked the moment I answered the phone.
I could hear the pounding of music and the roar of the crowd in the background.
"I'm driving."
"Come to Rave Bar and let me introduce you to someone new. Stop obsessing over all that troublesome stuff. Rome wasn't built in a day, you know..."
Since I was feeling frustrated, I agreed to May's suggestion immediately.
Around ten minutes later, I arrived at Rave Bar. It was more of a club than a bar, and it was much noisier than Greeny Bar.
Though I liked to bar hop, I did not usually go for such noisy ones. At the moment, however, I just wanted a place to vent my unhappy unhappiness.
When I entered, I saw May sitting in a corner. She had two men with her, probably the people that she wanted to introduce me to.
I went over and greeted them. May was sitting with one of the guys on one side of the table, leaving an empty chair next to the other guy.
When I sat down, I found him looking at me oddly. His hair was artfully styled and he had a black shirt on with two of the buttons undone, vaguely showing off a muscular chest.
In this respect, I truly admired May. Unlike me, she would not allow herself to be so hung up on one guy, and she always ended things with a clean break.
"Hello, my name's Austin Smith. I've heard of you before, and they're all good things..." The guy next to me said as he reached out a hand.
I was a little taken aback. I did not understand what he meant when he said that he had heard of me before. Did he know me?
However, my hesitation was quickly covered up by May's booming laughter. She said, "Queena, don't be surprised. Austin works for a large overseas investment firm, and he's just returned to the country to take charge of its operations here. Maybe you guys will have a lot of opportunities to work together in the future!"
As I listened to May's introduction of Austin, I robotically reached out a hand to shake his. He gazed at me meaningfully.
From the look in his eyes, I could tell that he probably just wanted to sleep with me. I was not really interested in him, though.
