"Do you want to stay and be my relationship advisor, too?"
Hank fell silent before answering, "I don't want to be a part of this."
He pointed at the wooden suitcase beside the table. "It's the Stone Turtle. It's been acting strange lately, and I thought I'd bring it over to let you check it."
After all, Shannon was the person who "created" it. After the chaos in Seastone City, the Stone Turtle seemed to come alive. On a daily basis, it would tag along Hank in the form of a stone spirit.
Although it was a pendant, it strangely possessed the ability to run and jump. Hank couldn't help but feel he was raising a pet spirit.
It had always been kept around, and aside from costing money and stones, there were no real problems with it. He had already gotten used to taking care of it.
But lately, something seemed off. Several times, it had suddenly disappeared without a sound, though he managed to find it again just in time.
Because of this, he had been staying at home more recently. After all, since Shannon's return, their home had become a shelter to all kinds of strange creatures.
Adding one more Stone Turtle didn't bother the family or the household staff; they all accepted it just fine. Given the Stone Turtle's strange behavior, Hank felt it necessary to ask Shannon about it.
Since Hector and the others were coming to Jamborough, he figured he might as well join them.
As Hank spoke, he began to open the wooden suitcase. It had been specially customized for the Stone Turtle, primarily to make it easier for Hank to carry it around.
Inside were compartments shaped to fit the Stone Turtle perfectly, along with a space specifically for raw stones. Even in the suitcase, the Stone Turtle could always have access to food.
Shannon noticed the size of the wooden suitcase and felt curious but didn't comment further.
Once she became accustomed to her sight, she saw Benjamin holding the Stone Turtle and presenting it to her. "Looking for this?"
He didn't mention when he had returned, and Shannon didn't ask.
When she saw him hand over the Stone Turtle, she instinctively nodded to say yes. However, she froze as she saw the item in his hand—one that was easily taking up most of his palm. "I… guess."
The emerald stone turtle pendant, though its material and details were the same as the one she had carved, was clearly much larger than the Mini Stone Turtle she had originally made, which had been no bigger than the size of her palm.
The one in front of her now was easily twice the size!
How many raw stones must it have eaten to grow this fast? Hank hadn't gone bankrupt yet, had he?
