Those two simple words made Shannon's heart pound.
She only felt her mind go blank for a moment, and then she suddenly lifted her gaze, looking around anxiously for the first time.
She had expected him to appear, just like every other time before, where he would show up at some nearby spot. With his golden light surrounding him, it was always easy for her to spot him.
But there was nothing this time.
Apart from the two little paper figures in front of her, she couldn't see any trace of Benjamin's golden light. She believed that Shanny Gold wouldn't lie to her, though.
Thalia had also said Benjamin hadn't vanished; he simply fell into a deep sleep upon returning to his rightful position.
Shannon had been waiting for the moment he awoke and sought her. Yet, now that he had awakened and returned, he didn't seek her out.
An illogical unease and anxiety sprouted within her, yet it was soon suppressed. She thought it was fine because she could seek him instead. All she needed to do was confirm his location.
With that thought, she lifted Shanny Gold and said, "Take me to him."
Shanny Gold dropped the twig it had been holding in its little hands and nodded at her. It had come to find her for this very reason. But along the way, it had been caught by a mischievous fox.
A faint smile appeared on Shannon's face, and then she waved toward the system. Albany immediately flew over, carrying the chest in its mouth.
Seeing that Shannon was ready to leave with her pet and two paper figures, Bianca couldn't help but stop her. "Hey, Shannon! Aren't you going to report to class?"
After everything, was she going to just leave like that?
Before she entered the door of Special Demon Class, the initiation ceremony would remain redundant. She would have to engage in another challenge tomorrow.
Shannon seemed to have heard it, yet it was as if she hadn't, her footsteps unhurried as she led Kai away. Before long, the crowd saw a wyrm and its rider suddenly soar into the sky, vanishing into the clouds in the blink of an eye.
Carmine stared blankly at the two disappearing figures, stunned for a moment before finally reacting, shouting, "T-The rule says you can't… transform into your true form and fly recklessly!"
What a disaster. Not only had they publicly skipped class, but they had also broken the campus rule with their instructors watching at the side!
Suddenly, a soft voice chimed in. "I saw them. They only transformed after stepping out of the gate. Technically, no rules have been broken."
At that, Carmine heaved in relief and lamented, "Thank goodness."
