Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1630

Seeing Reuben outside the door, Shannon was surprised but not shocked. She took one more look at the clearly broken door lock after it was pushed open and stared silently at him.

He instantly read her mind, and before she could speak, he said, "Your door lock is way too flimsy. I'll tell Xylon to get you a new one later."

What a crappy lock, breaking as soon as it was touched. It certainly deserved to be replaced.

Shannon's expression turned polite when she heard he had offered a new lock. She asked, "Is there something you need?"

Reuben didn't hesitate and walked straight in. His gaze swept over the two plump fox tails behind her.

His eyes darkened slightly, but he quickly suppressed the expression, instead scanning the surroundings of the courtyard. His gaze finally landed on Kai.

After choosing a spot he liked, he sat down and then spoke. "I heard about the school's arrangement. Is there anything you'd like to say to me?"

He thought that if she asked him directly to act on her behalf, he wouldn't mind helping her fight for more.

In addition to the reward she deserved, he would also make sure everyone knew that she was a legitimate member of the Wynthorpe family, not someone who could be easily bullied.

However, the reality was if Shannon were the type to ask him for a favor directly, he wouldn't have only learned about this matter today.

His initiation to the topic opened her up to talk a little about it. But before the chat, she needed to confirm something. "Is this a safe space?"

Reuben glanced at her, his tone surprisingly calm and gentle. "Of course."

Feeling reassured, Shannon stated, "I've heard that Zaprath is an academy under the DCA, meaning that the DCA is the original founding body. However, from my perspective, there are still many issues within the school, both in terms of its systems and management.

"First, there's the issue of management. Although the school has set up barriers to prevent outsiders from entering, it's not difficult for the students within the academy to break through these barriers.

"Not to mention, the barriers are poorly maintained in several areas, with no dedicated personnel to carry out repairs.

While it was true that rewards couldn't be demanded, since there had been a precedent, it had been unfair that she was treated as if nothing had happened simply because she was a quarter-demon child.

She had intended to argue her case with the school.

As for skipping classes, it hadn't been some form of protest, and she hadn't thought it threatened anyone. She hadn't attended classes simply because she couldn't retract her tails.

Though in the demonic school, it had been common for demons to walk around in their demon forms, for Shannon, however, it had been a sign of lack of control. She disliked that feeling.

When Reuben heard that she actually planned to propose a reform plan targeting the academy in the name of the Demon Control Agency, he didn't think she was abusing her authority.

Instead, he felt a sense of reassurance; hearing she had a way to handle things gave him a sense of comfort.

"That's more like it; protesting unfairness by skipping classes is a foolish and ineffective way to go about it," he mused.
