At that moment, Shannon's path was blocked. The one stopping her was a familiar face. It was Cornelius, the juvenile demon who'd always wanted to fight her during the college tournament.
"Do you not know that young demons from the east wing are not allowed to enter the west wing without permission?"
He'd long received news about Shannon's arrival at Zaprath, though he didn't understand how a former human mystic master had suddenly become a half-demon.
His gaze swept over her to land on her bold beautiful fox tail and paused briefly. A fox demon huh?
In that instant, he finally understood why Reuben had paid so much attention to a human mystic master back then.
Since Shannon had enrolled in Zaprath, he thought it'd be the perfect chance to make up for not being able to fight her during the tournament.
He decided there was no rush to challenge her after learning she'd joined elementary class, but he hadn't expected her to wander into the west wing.
"I have something to do. Move aside." Shannon wasn't surprised to see Cornelius here, but she had no time to chat.
Cornelius didn't budge and remained rooted to the ground with his expression as cold as ever. "What's the matter?"
Shannon frowned. She was already feeling impatient but decided to tell him what she'd seen.
Just as she was about to speak, a strange demon scent suddenly invaded the school, and the scent of the young demons she'd been tracking vanished in the next instant.
Shannon's expression changed slightly. Something was definitely wrong. "Move!"
She shoved past Cornelius, and with wind-like speed, she dashed toward the small metal gate near the wall.
Cornelius also sensed the disturbance from a moment ago. When he looked at Shannon, he noticed her speed was far beyond that of an ordinary person though she wasn't using talismans.
This was bad, really bad. If Shannon caused trouble, he would be held responsible as the big brother.
Hearing Rylan's voice, Shannon was worried he'd follow and quickly signaled to him. "A few young demons from the elementary class were kidnapped. Cornelius and I are going after them. Go back and report to the demon instructors!"
With that, both she and Cornelius had disappeared around the street.
Rylan's chubby face immediately turned serious. Then, he turned and sprinted back to the east wing.
At this moment, it was training time for the three elementary classes. All young demons were mingled together, so no one noticed a few were missing.
Instead of going straight to the instructors, Rylan charged toward where Derek and the other young demons were fighting. He shouted, "Brothers, listen up! A demon just kidnapped some of our younglings!"
The previously rowdy young demons froze. After a quick glance exchange, they immediately started counting their own and soon confirmed exactly which young demons had been taken.
