Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1612

Shannon had officially decided to become an exchange student at the Zaprath School of Demon Arts.

At this moment, she wasn't aware that even the so-called kindergarten class of the school was not to be underestimated.

Though Marilyn was the only adult demon she'd met on this trip, she didn't mind. She had come here to find out the truth about Benjamin's nine-tailed fox in her dreams. She could investigate at her own pace.

After all, young demons were much easier to get information from than the older and more guarded demons. At least, that was how it'd been with the ones she'd met so far.

Shannon and Thalia left the Wynthorpe residence. Instead of moving into the house Adam had arranged, they moved into a small courtyard Thalia had previously purchased in the demon district.

Since Shannon had decided to enroll in the demonic school, living here would make it easier for her to integrate into demon society.

The so-called demon district referred to designated areas specifically set aside for demons. Ordinary people rarely entered these zones aside from a few special humans.

If a human accidentally wandered in, the demons wouldn't harm them as long as the human didn't cause trouble.

There were five such districts within Jamborough with the fox clan at the center. That was where the Zaprath School of Demon Arts was located.

"I bought this place after moving out of the Wynthorpe residence. It's not very big, but it's enough for two people. I had someone clean it up before we came back."

She paused and looked at Shannon with some hesitation. "Shannon, are you sure you don't want me to stay with you?"

She was asking if Shannon was sure about living alone while she was in the fox clan's district.

Shannon simply shook her head. "Mom, though I may still be young by demon standards, I'm an adult by humans." Since she'd come of age, there was no reason for a grown woman to have her mother escorting her to school every day.

Plus, overprotection would never allow someone to truly grow. This journey to Jamborough was ultimately hers alone to take.

The murmuring of demons gradually faded as the moon was swallowed by dark clouds. The night fell into silence.

Meanwhile, at the Wynthorpe residence, Reuben remained alone beneath the Soul Tree after Shannon and Thalia left. He tried to sense traces of Shannon's supernatural powers but found nothing.

For a long while, he stood in silence staring at the soul bells on the tree. Then, he murmured, "Let's hope you're not really…"

Otherwise, Thalia would surely fight him to the death.

He stood there a while longer before turning and heading toward the inner backyard.

His figure flickered to move instantly from one end of the hallway to the other. In the blink of an eye, he passed through the rock gardens and pavilions to arrive in front of a delicately decorated residence with carved eaves and painted beams.
