On the third day after Shannon woke up, Zane's merit conversation application was approved by the Merit Review Office.
With the lifespan issue resolved, Shannon and Thalia could finally focus on dealing with Sylvia and Tortoise the System.
Thalia was responsible for restoring Sylvia's appearance, while Shannon would fulfill her promise and return the system to the body it'd longed for.
With Maya and Sylvia's fused soul as experimental material and the previous experience of separating Dreambeast's consciousness from Sylvia's, Shannon finally found a way to detach the system's consciousness from the mosaic scutes tortoise.
The system had assumed that Shannon would be devastated for a while after losing Benjamin. Who would've thought she wasn't affected and even had the time and mood to work on giving it a new body?
It was in disbelief.
"Y-You're serious about giving me a new body? You don't have to force yourself if it won't work. I'm not in a hurry either…"
The system floated nervously with black smoke swirling around it. It hovered before Shannon's face trying to read her expression.
Yet Shannon remained as calm as ever. Not only did she not look the least bit reluctant, but she also took out Maya and Sylvia's souls.
After thorough testing, the once fused souls had now completely separated into two. Once they confirmed Sylvia's features wouldn't suddenly disappear again, Sylvia's alternate world soul and Maya's soul would be sent to their proper destinations.
"The method has been tested. If you think your current body is fine and don't want to switch back and forth, I don't care," Shannon said and pretended to stop.
The system immediately panicked. It shot forward in a blur of black smoke. "I'll do it!"
It had to become the King of Testudines at least once. Plus, its current body wouldn't suffer any harm even with the soul transfer.
Just as it was waiting for the final detaching step, Shannon paused.
The system froze. Was Shannon about to mess up again? How could she handle everything else so perfectly but always screw up for matters relating to it?
Just as it was about to panic, Shannon maintained her mudra and asked, "I never asked but… What's your name?"
The system blanked. Deep down, it wanted to snap that it was just the system and didn't have one.
Before becoming the system, it'd been the least malevolent deity of the alternate world. When the Divine Power took it to Jordan for modification, nobody asked for its name.
Perhaps a malevolent deity had never been deserving of a name.
