Shannon didn't know much about Dreambeast and wasn't sure what they could do to force its true self into leaving Sylvia's body. But she had to try no matter what.
After bringing Sylvia out of the barrier, Shannon set up a simple array around her. Then she gripped her amulet and drew a talisman in the void.
"By command of the golden mouth, let all be revealed; by rule of the supreme decree, all shall be seen…"
As she chanted, she formed a mudra and finally gave a sharp command. "Expel!"
This was the chant to the dispel talisman she'd used to drive the subsystem from the body takeover dolls.
Though Dreambeast wasn't a deity, Shannon believed the same principles applied. Considering Dreambeast had absorbed a great deal of fortune-enhancing energy, she infused the talisman with an extra touch of golden light just as it was completed.
The talisman in the air started glowing with layers of golden light.
As the light came into contact with Sylvia, her body convulsed violently. Shannon wanted to press further and force Dreambeast out, but she quickly realized that if she continued, Sylvia's soul and body would collapse under the strain before Dreambeast could even be extracted.
She had no choice but to stop.
Benjamin said, "Once Dreambeast has fully bonded with its host, their energies merge. Its connection to Sylvia's soul is likely too deep to be easily separated after so many days."
Shannon's eyes darkened slightly. She looked at Benjamin and murmured, "That sounds a lot like the current issue with the system."
She'd tried transferring the system to a new host body but failed because the system had merged too deeply with the tortoise's consciousness.
At that thought, inspiration struck. She quickly instructed Leah to retrieve some items from her room.
Fortunately, she'd promised to find a way to transfer the system back. While she had yet to complete her research, she'd made some progress.
Before long, Hector and the others watched as she set up an array around Sylvia's body. The array had initially been designed for the system, but now she could test it on Sylvia instead.
Shannon was confident she was on the right track, but given Dreambeast had likely absorbed a lot of fortune from dreams, she muttered under her breath, "If only there were some external force that could enter the dream and force it out."
The Mini Stone Turtle glowed faintly with spiritual energy, and it was no wonder he hadn't been affected by Dreambeast's influence. He must've been protected by the Stone Turtle.
Wait. The Mini Stone Turtle.
A thought crossed Shannon's mind as her gaze sharpened. She stared at the Mini Stone Turtle in Hank's hands nurtured by raw stones, which was now translucent and flawless.
Oblivious to her intense gaze, Hank scanned the basement. Seeing that Alex, Eva, and many of his university classmates were among the unconscious, his heart tightened slightly.
But he spotted Zane awake and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
After realizing something had happened in Seastone, Hank immediately tried to contact home. But with Seastone's network cut off and more classmates collapsing around him, he grew uneasy and decided to return.
He soon noticed that while people were fainting around them, he remained completely unaffected. As he recalled the Spirit Deity summoning incident with his dormmate, he figured the Mini Stone turtle had protected him.
With that reassurance, he'd driven home at full speed with the Mini Stone Turtle.
