Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1457

Reuben frowned and asked, "Why are they sitting in the front row?"

Given his age, he was far older than the two elders combined.

Thalia had expected his reaction and forced a smile for the camera. "Because they're seniors."

Reuben frowned. "And I'm not?" How dare a pair of humans not even 200 years old combined claim seniority before him?

Thalia found him increasingly annoying. She turned and impatiently snapped, "Are you taking the picture or not? If not, leave."

Reuben decided to show them respect for once.

While the siblings squabbled, Shannon glanced around and felt something was missing. She called for the photo-taking session to be put on hold before leaving the crowd.

Then, she walked toward Benjamin and pulled him over without hesitation.

Adam and Hector had complicated expressions upon seeing Benjamin join, but no one voiced objections that Benjamin wasn't fit to be around.

He was her fiancé, after all. Though it was unofficial, he was family, wasn't he?

Shannon dragged Benjamin to her side.

From the moment she brought him over, Reuben's sharp gaze had been locked on Benjamin. Something flickered in his eyes after a long piercing stare.

Realization dawned, and he shifted his focus to Thalia. There was no way she wouldn't know who Benjamin was.

Sensing his gaze, Thalia responded softly, "Whatever it is, talk after the session."

Reuben suppressed the emotions swirling in his eyes and directed his attention back to the camera.

He rarely took pictures, and this was the first time he'd posed for one with Thalia.

In front of the grand, opulent stairs, the Jensens stood in orderly positions by their families.

"You know who he is, don't you? He's the man who single-handedly founded the Special Security Agency and Demon Control Agency. How dare you manipulate him in such a manner?

"Aren't you afraid he'll awaken one day and settle scores with you?"

Locking his stare on Thalia, a thought struck him. His voice grew increasingly cold as he questioned, "You know who he is, and you bound him to Shannon just to guard against me?"

"Binding him to Shannon was not just to guard against you, but also against those so-called elders of the clan," Thalia replied as she met his icy stare without flinching.

She continued, "I'm well aware the clan has spent countless years searching for the perfect vessel. Even if there's only a one-in-ten-thousand chance, there's no way I'm handing Shannon back to the clan."

Benjamin was the unshakable shield she'd chosen for Shannon.

Thalia's voice was resolute, and each word rang firm and determined. "Now that I've returned, I won't let you scheme against my daughter. I don't want your wedding gifts, and you can forget about taking Shannon away."

She paused briefly, and her tone became colder. "Now leave."
