Fennec had always had pure spiritual energy, and that was why Shannon had never doubted her. But now it seemed she'd made a mistake.

Fennec struggled to sit up. Her face showed no anger from being kicked. Instead, she looked at Shannon and lowered her eyes after a long pause.

She softly said, "Mr. Wright said this is the only way Ms. Wynthorpe can leave the alternate world safely."

Thalia closed her eyes, and her white lashes trembled slightly. Deep down, she muttered to herself, "As expected."

Still in a daze, Shannon looked at Fennec and turned to Thalia in her arms. Seeing the latter's solemn expression, she understood that what Fennec had said was probably true.

Natural catastrophes followed, including earthquakes, tsunamis, and melting glaciers.
