Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1385

Shannon and Lexie's guesses were right. They were currently in a cultural artifacts village.

In this village, the inhabitants were likely various cultural relics and antiques that, like Brooklynn, had transformed into a spirit.

That explained why the villagers could instantly see through the true form of everyone in the group and yet welcomed them with open enthusiasm, showing no concern.

They should've expected this wouldn't be a normal village when the person assured Brooklynn she could transform her into a spirit. Of course, Shannon wouldn't have guessed this village consisted of cultural artifacts that had gained sentience.

On top of that, they weren't ordinary antiques.

"Is it okay for you to disclose this to us?" Shannon asked Harlan.

Since they had chosen to live hidden within this village surrounded by a protective barrier, they ought to be aware of the value they possessed. However, from last night until today, Harlan clearly didn't treat them as outsiders.

He thought her question was strange. "What's the issue? We can't disclose the information to mortals, but none of us here are humans, right?"

Lexie originally felt stuffy in her chest. When she heard that statement, she quickly said, "I'm a human."

She then pointed at Shannon and Benjamin, stating, "We're all humans!"

He shouldn't treat them as non-humans just because their group consisted of the Unmelting Bone, a half-demon, a Stone Spirit, and a tortoise, right?

Harlan narrowed his eyes at Shannon and Benjamin, then waved in dismissal. "Well, tomato, to-mah-to. Mystic masters aren't considered mortals. Besides… I trust that you guys mean no harm to the village."

When speaking, he couldn't help but look in Benjamin's direction, as if his presence guaranteed the credibility of his other group members.

Shannon had no reason to betray the Mini Stone Turtle. Besides, it was Brooklynn who attacked it and Hank first. Therefore, she couldn't plead not guilty.

Emeralda, being a gemstone herself, naturally sensed the lingering energy on the stone. Unlike Harlan, who made a fuss about it, she turned her gaze toward Brooklynn, her eyes full of silent questioning.

"Your true form may've been rid of sinister energy, but it still isn't as translucent as when I first met you. Did you get ahead of yourself after becoming a spirit and commit bad deeds?"

Emeralda, having transformed into a spirit over a millennium, exuded a far more imposing temperament than Brooklyn, which was less than a century old.

When Emeralda questioned her, she trembled visibly. In a panic, her spiritual form collapsed onto the ground with a thud. She instinctively hugged her head with both hands and curled up into a tight ball.

"I-I'm sorry. I promise I'll never do that again."
