Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1362

Hank had been sympathetic after hearing the story of Brooklynn's creator.

But he was utterly speechless after learning why she'd impersonated someone else.

Were spirits nowadays all this capricious? She felt almost comparable to his MIni Stone Turtle, and yet, he didn't know how to criticize her.

Hank subconsciously glanced at Shannon and wondered how she planned to deal with Brooklynn.

He knew Shannon had joined the Demon Control Agency, and rumor had it they were pretty strict about managing spirits and demons.

Given Shannon's cold nature, he figured Brooklynn probably wouldn't end up well…

In his heart, he offered a moment of silent pity for Brooklynn.

But to his surprise, Shannon raised her hand and withdrew the chains binding Brooklynn.

She looked at the latter, and her expression softened slightly as she said, "Your creator died because of his lingering attachment, and that doesn't have to be yours. I'll let it slide this time."

She helped Brooklynn up and warned, "But don't let this happen again."

Hank was utterly baffled. He wondered if Shannon was only heartless toward the Jensens.

Brooklynn was equally stunned. She hadn't expected Shannon to let her go so easily and eyed Shannon with doubt. "You're not going to hold me accountable?"

Shannon glanced at her and asked, "Do you want me to?"

Brooklynn shook her head vigorously. "No, no, no."

Her face lit up with surprise and gratitude after realizing she was truly being spared.

"You're so kind. Don't worry, I'll never do this again," she reassured Shannon before walking away.

Zidane was both petty and vengeful, after all. Ending up on his blacklist was no laughing matter.

Shannon and Benjamin were alone in the room after dismissing the manager. The latter then asked, "Are you planning to track that Stone Spirit?"

Shannon turned to him with an expression that asked. "How did you know?"

Benjamin explained, "I noticed you placed a tracking talisman on her when you helped her up."

His words renewed her understanding of Benjamin's sharpness.

Though she'd indeed marked Brooklynn, she wouldn't let it ruin their rare date today.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to change the theme of our date," she suggested. Instead of shopping, she'd like to work on surveillance.

Benjamin was silent for a moment before he suddenly said, "Maybe we've both overlooked something."
