After returning from Jamborough, Shannon had been handling one thing after another. She had barely crossed paths with Benjamin and hadn't had a proper rest.
Though Benjamin knew she was eager to uncover clues about the alternate world, he wished she wouldn't push herself this hard.
"Have you handled everything?" he asked.
Shannon glanced down at the tortoise in her hand and replied, "More or less I guess."
The issue at Seastone University was resolved, but she hadn't obtained any useful clues from Jordan. Her tone was neutral, but Benjamin caught a faint trace of frustration on her face.
His dark eyes fixed on her for two seconds before he suddenly said, "Give me two minutes."
With that, he strode off toward the room where Jordan was being held.
Benjamin was an agent of the Special Security Agency, and the guards let him in. Soon, he was standing before Jordan.
Jordan looked at him in confusion, and his expression soon shifted to astonishment. "You're…"
Benjamin didn't answer as he stepped closer.
From the hallway, Shannon felt puzzled about what Benjamin needed with Jordan. The next moment, she heard Jordan's pained shout from within.
Startled, she instinctively moved toward the door but soon held herself back.
She chose to wait on the spot for a minute and a half, and two minutes later as promised, Benjamin appeared.
He looked as composed as before, though his sleeves were now rolled up to expose his lean forearm. As he adjusted his cuff with one hand, he glanced at Shannon and said, "Let's go."
Shannon gave Jordan a look and asked, "Did you beat him up?"
Benjamin replied rather indifferently, "Just tried an interrogation technique."
Benjamin gave the address for a restaurant after they got into the car. Noticing Shannon's curious stare, he explained, "It's almost mealtime. Let's eat."
When they arrived, Shannon realized it was a couple-themed restaurant. Though it wasn't too pricey, the decor was incredibly romantic. Each table or private room had its unique theme.
Benjamin had reserved a room with a mystic arts theme.
She learned this particular room was specially designed after Sixth Sense aired. The owner of the restaurant was an avid fan of the show and had been inspired to transform the space after the show ended.
Though it was a theme with mystic arts, the room wasn't eerie in the slightest.
The Crisean-styled room had a full glass window on one side. The wall was covered in sculptures written in elegant brushstrokes giving the space the aesthetic of an ink painting.
A long display table sat nearby and was adorned with mystic arts instruments. To make them less scary, they were miniature versions.
There were tiny amulets, tiny straw dolls, and tiny talismans encased in glass. There was even a round-headed chubby paper figure.
