Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1352

Jordan seemed to sense something from fluctuations in Tortoise the System. His gaze shifted slowly from Shannon to the tortoise before him.

Staring at its shrinking little head and colorful doodled shell, it took him a long while to finally realize what the tortoise was.

The muscles on his face twitched slightly in helplessness. His expression darkened, which was a rare occurrence.

Shannon calmly observed his reaction and pushed the tortoise closer to him. Then, she unhurriedly answered his question, "No, this is your pet."

Her voice was indifferent as she continued, "This is the system you created. You should be able to recognize it."

Under Jordan's gaze, the system shrank back nervously and crawled two steps away.

Jordan's eyes darkened briefly, but he soon returned to his usual calm demeanor. This time, however, he didn't bother denying it and said, "You're wrong. Though I participated in its creation, I'm not its owner."

Strictly speaking, he belonged to the same owner as the system.

Shannon seemed to understand. "That makes sense. It's unlikely that the Divine Power will disguise itself as a human and live this long."

Jordan raised an eyebrow at her. "You know more than I expected."

Her knowledge of the system, the Divine Power, and the matters of the alternate world was extensive.

Shannon met his gaze and calmly pointed at the tortoise. "Yes, it told me everything,"

Though it might've been through tricks or other means, she'd ultimately confirmed her information from the system.

Tortoise the System didn't expect Shannon to throw it under the bus. Its tiny head whipped around to glare at her, and it immediately protested.

"I didn't! She's lying to you! I said nothing!"

Shannon showed no remorse for dragging the system into this. Instead, she added fuel to the fire and said, "If you didn't tell me, how would I know that much? Didn't you tell me everything about the alternate world and reincarnators?"

And after learning he came from the alternate world, she hoped to extract useful information from him through the system.

"I do have clues about the alternate world. If I want to, I can even bring the person you're searching for from the alternate world."

Shannon's heart skipped a beat, but she listened as he went on.

"But using the system as a trade is not enough. A system that's lost its energy has no value whether to me or anyone else. I don't want it even if you give it back to me."

His words struck the system like a bolt of lightning, and its body shuddered. Though it had the appearance of a tortoise, there was unmistakable hurt and disbelief in its eyes.

Even as a system, it had a unique emotional bond with its creator.

For the first time, Shannon sensed a feeling of loss and sorrow coming from the system.
