"What do you mean? Did you plan all of this?" Hank shot up from his seat.
Seeing that Shannon and Jordan were unmoving, he instinctively nudged toward her. It was obvious neither of them bothered to entertain him. Instead, the two stared at each other—one solemn while the other passive.
"How did you know I was lying?" Jordan was curious, considering he thought he had done a great performance.
Shannon looked at him emotionlessly. "You're not the only one reborn from the alternate world."
In honesty, she didn't doubt him when he first brought up the mass suicide case. However, he exuded an air of dissonance to her. Hence, when she returned, she validated the information with Clara.
Since returning from Jamborough, she had confronted Clara about what she knew. She found out that Clara hid the secret of her rebirth because she was worried the mystic arts community would chain her soul and use it for research purposes.
After realizing Shannon had known her secret for some time, she no longer hid the truth.
In her previous life, she was dragged into the mess of the Leighs. She didn't pay much attention to the news but remembered some of the much bigger and major events.
Shannon remembered Clara saying, "I may not be sure about other places, but I definitely would've heard about such big news at Seastone U… That is unless the case was suppressed.
"Still, I don't think that was the case. Even if it were suppressed, and the general public was unaware about it, there was no way people in our circle were kept in the dark too…"
In summary, Clara was confident this incident hadn't happened in her previous life.
At the same time, she was curious about Jordan. "Was that student you mentioned a journalism student? Otherwise, why would he remember all the dates and locations of societal news?"
Logically, people would usually remember the date and place of a certain event if it was either related to themselves or they were involved in that particular circle.
Given the great compatibility between his soul and face, Shannon deduced he was a living soul from the alternate world who had succeeded in the body takeover.
"You're smart, but you're wrong this time." Jordan continued, "I'm the real Jordan. From the moment I was born, I've been the Jordan I am now."
His refute didn't faze Shannon. Instead, she asked, "If you're really him, what was your intention in orchestrating this mass suicide? Did you have a grudge with all nine of them?"
"Not really."
Titus was nothing more than a little friction he encountered in life, yet he had planned to kill him from the start. As for the initial eight victims…
"I suppose you can see it as a little challenge I've given you… Just to see how remarkable you are." Jordan smiled nonchalantly, his gaze profound as he looked at her.
