Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1319

"Help us! Please save us!"

The center of the snake swarm revealed a familiar python, Poisy.

As she'd been scorched by Shannon's fire talismans moments earlier, her supernatural energy was chaotic and raging. "It's you again! You're clearly in cahoots with Layne!"

Shannon shot her a cold glare. Seeing how she'd recklessly summoned the snake swarm by risking the depletion of her supernatural energy almost fatally for revenge, her anger surged.

"Didn't I warn you not to harm the innocent?" Poisy's feud with Layne had no reason to involve others!

Shannon's gaze shifted to Xander, who was held tightly in his mother's arms. If she hadn't had Scott give him the protective talisman in advance, he might've been bitten to death by the venomous snakes!

Poisy showed no fear in response to her reprimand. Instead, she hissed in fury, "The Special Security Agency insists on protecting Layne! You hid him away so I couldn't kill him. If I can't take his life, his wife and child will have to pay the price!"

She wanted Layne to feel the pain she'd endured.

Shannon frowned deeply and hadn't expected such a misunderstanding. As the Special Security Agency had taken Layne away, Poisy hadn't been able to exact her revenge and turned her wrath on his family instead.

"Who told you we're protecting Layne? He's right out there!" Shannon didn't hesitate to sell Layne out.

It was only now that the raging Poisy sensed her enemy nearby. She immediately prepared to turn and charge toward the door.

But Shannon stepped forward with a thunder talisman and blocked her path.

"Think carefully. I can't let you live if you kill someone. Once you commit murder, it won't be just you, but your unborn serpent child will also inherit your murder debt."

At the mention of the child, Poisy's pupils constricted sharply. In the next instant, her supernatural energy surged violently. "It's for my child that I demand this life!"

Her roar shook the room as she charged forward.

Tears streamed down Blossom's face. When he spoke, his voice choked with grief. "It's… gone."

The fetus soul in the serpent's egg had suddenly weakened yesterday. Poisy and Blossom had poured all their supernatural energy into stabilizing it, but by this morning, the child's heartbeat had completely ceased.

Their child was dead, and that was attributed to the hunters Layne had sent to capture the serpents. How could they not hate him?

They'd refrained from harming humans, but humans had killed their child. Was there anything wrong if they sought revenge? Was it unjust to demand a life paid in life?

Shannon listened to Blossom's grief-stricken plea, and her heart clenched at the mix of sorrow and fury in Poisy's mournful roars.

Just then, she suddenly detected a faint almost imperceptible energy from the serpent's egg in Blossom's arms.

Her heart leaped, and she stepped forward. "Wait! The serpent's fetus might still be alive!"
