When Adam received Shannon's call, he assumed she was calling to say she planned to stay in that area overnight.
When he received her request to buy a villa, he was momentarily stunned before quickly responding, "Do you have your eye on one there? Which one? I'll buy it for you.
"Do you want the one next to your grandma's? Will one be enough? Shall we buy more? I'll cover everything!"
Adam's voice remained steady as usual, but the faint trace of affection in his tone betrayed his feelings.
This was the first time Shannon asked him for something since returning to the Jensens. Sure enough, he was the one Shannon needed the most with Hector away.
Perhaps it was a good idea for Hector to stay a little longer in Jamborough.
Shannon had no idea what Adam was thinking. Hearing his suggestion to buy multiple villas, she quickly clarified, "I want Layne Hickman's villa. One is enough, and I'll pay for it myself."
She now had plenty of shares, including the 30% shares she recently acquired in Horizon Entertainment. That was more than enough to afford the villa.
The main reason she involved Adam was that she didn't want to deal with Layne, especially after causing such a commotion at his villa tonight.
She'd gradually grown accustomed to troubling her family with such matters since returning to the Jensens. She'd come to realize that while she could handle many things herself, letting her family assist gave them a sense of participation and connection.
Perhaps that was why Hector had chosen to enter the world of mystic arts as an ordinary person.
Adam was unfamiliar with the name "Layne Hickman", but it didn't matter who the latter was. If Shannon wanted his villa, it must be for a good reason. All he had to do was pay and consider it done.
Though reluctant, Poisy agreed. Shannon handed her a talisman to stabilize her supernatural energy and prevent further leakage.
Once this was settled, she finally returned home to enjoy a good night's sleep.
When she spotted Scott grumpily preparing for school the next day, she called out to him and handed him two protective talismans.
Scott immediately tensed up. "Am I about to face some major calamity?" The kind where even his protective emerald pendant wasn't enough, and he needed two extra talismans.
Shannon glanced at him and explained, "This isn't for you.
"There's someone at your school named Xander Hickman. He's about your age. Give him these talismans and find an excuse to make sure he and his mom carry them at all times."
