Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1258

Lexie arrived exactly on the eighth minute as promised.

By the time she arrived, Shannon was handing out gold paper bars to the baby ghosts as a token of appreciation for their help.

As Lexie sprinted down the street like she was running some field race, Shannon waved her hand to dismiss the baby ghosts.

Heston stood nearby quietly with no intention to escape, though he was free from the clutches of the baby ghosts. He'd come to an agreement with Shannon.

Other than her display of power with the fire lightning being one of the main reasons he trusted her this much, Benjamin beside her was equally important.

Benjamin gave him a strange sense of attraction. Heston didn't know if he was describing it correctly, but when Benjamin looked at him, he felt a sense of security and calmness like never before.

When Lexie arrived, she was momentarily taken back by the tall calm figure standing before her. Though she'd heard Shannon's description of the Unmelting Bone on her way over, the man before her seemed no different from an ordinary human.

This scene was a far cry from the horrifying Unmelting Bone she'd encountered in Harrisfield Village.

"Do you remember me? You used to chase me down." Though she felt nervous, she didn't hesitate to approach.

Heston glanced at her and shifted his gaze away expressionlessly.

Seeing his response, Lexie relaxed further. He did seem humane like Shannon had said.

"You don't remember? Back in Harrisfield Village when you were hunting me down, a ghoul suddenly lunged at me from the side, and you slapped it away. Strictly speaking, we're acquaintances."

Grinning, she'd completely relaxed by now. She tried to approach Heston further by pointing at Cassidy standing beside him and asking, "Is this cute little girl your daughter? Can I touch her?"

Both Heston and Cassidy were utterly speechless. They wondered how Lexie could hit it off with them right away.

Now that Heston was cooperating, Shannon decided to bring him and Cassidy back to their current residence.

Since Benjamin disliked staying in hotels, they'd been renting a garden villa in Arenvale for the last two days. It offered privacy and was the perfect location to set up an array without drawing unwanted attention.

After preparing some food for Cassidy and providing both her and Heston with clean clothes, Shannon and Lexie took the chance to discuss the matter while they freshened up.

Shannon explained, "I've researched ordinary spirit contracts. They can bind entities below the level of the Ghost King, but the Unmelting Bone is stronger than the Ghost King and isn't considered a ghost or a spirit.

"So, I was thinking… Perhaps we could modify the spirit contract by incorporating your family's corpse control."

Shannon had seen Lexie's corpse control in action back in Harrisfield Village. When she'd started considering a different approach for Heston, Lexie had been the first candidate she thought of as the contract bearer.

Of course, Shannon could try contracting Heston herself. But as Benjamin was worried about, doing so would undoubtedly consume a significant amount of her spiritual energy to maintain her balance with Heston.
