Outside the venue, the audience was thoroughly speechless at the unfolding events. They anticipated a battle between the Seastonians and Team Demon, but…
"It felt like the battle ended without even starting…" a Jamboroughian muttered.
Though Shannon had started the battle by throwing out a talisman, her opponent had barely done anything before getting scared off by her stench-infused talisman.
The ending to the battle ended so abruptly that it caught everyone off guard.
Compared to the students' astonished reactions, the lecturers were more intrigued by the talisman that Shannon had used.
Though it sounded like a rather chaotic and unrefined sigil, the technique of incorporating supernatural energy into the talisman was something they had never seen before.
Some of them who specialized in talismans had their minds opened to new possibilities and were even tempted to catch a demon on the spot to experiment with the energy themselves.
Another similarly intrigued was Reuben, who tuned into the livestream on MysticApp. "Interesting, indeed."
It was a missed opportunity, though. After tampering with the ghost bottles, his main goal was to witness her true "abilities".
In the end, she subdued the evil spirits with ease and didn't even have to face Cornelius head-on. He sneered, then switched off the livestream having lost his interest.
Meanwhile, the audience was baffled to see two competing teams running down the stairs. "Two teams have fled, while the Seastonians still hold two bottles. What happens next?"
Although failing to complete the first round wouldn't lead to immediate elimination, it would still influence the nature of the second round.
As the lecturers pondered the issue, they saw someone pointing at the Seastonians on-screen. "Hey, look!"
Everyone's focus shifted back to the screen. By then, the yellow gas in the corridor had dispersed.
Myla, who had been sobbing and trying to force her way into the barrier, hesitated for a moment before cautiously returning to her body.
As her soul re-entered, she opened her eyes and immediately started crying again.
As if forgetting about her stinky body, she grinned and asked, "Are you sure you're giving this to me?"
"I'm very sure."
Mike and the others had no objections to Shannon's decision. They waved their hands dismissively, mainly because at this point, she was the only one left in the building.
Although Cale was annoying with his incessant chatter, Myla was considered okay. The key issue was their dislike for the attitude of those young demons. Hence, they gave it to the Northgaters.
They simply couldn't end things on a sour note, or everyone would think the Seastonians were being big bullies.
Myla was genuinely taken aback by their kindness. "I… I don't know; I feel like I've lucked out. Why don't you guys report Cale instead? At least that way, I'll feel better about this."
The Seastonians were baffled, while Cale would've felt triggered if he were present.
