Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1123

It was the annoying Cale from yesterday.

Cale's provocative gaze swept over them and landed on Shannon. He seemed to have forgotten his lesson as he smiled and winked at her. But with his lecturer present, he refrained from saying anything inappropriate.

Shannon ignored him. The tournament was about to begin, so there'd be plenty of chances for her to act. There was no rush.

A lady sitting next to Shannon leaned over. Her face was lit with excitement. "Shannon! I knew I'd get to see you at the tournament. I'm a huge fan! I've watched every episode of your livestream!"

Then, she extended her hand with poise. "My name's Myla Lawson. Can I shake your hand?"

Hearing her name, Shannon turned to glance at her.

Myla seemed to be in her early 20s and radiated youthful energy. Even the uniform couldn't conceal her bright demeanor.

Though she looked vibrant, there was a faint layer of negative energy surrounding her. Unlike the typical negative energy, hers seemed innate with a subtle trace of black light.

Shannon had seen this particular black light on the delivery men from Supernatural Energy.

If she was correct, Myla was an underworld traveler.

As the name suggested, they were souls recruited by the underworld to perform tasks on their behalf. As underworld travelers, their souls guided the recently deceased to their next destination, and the souls would be returned to their bodies once the task was completed.

They were like part-time workers for the underworld. They were essentially alive but granted abilities normal souls wouldn't have. That included soul-chaining and opening the passage to the underworld.

Mystic masters held underworld travelers in high regard. Not only could they communicate with the underworld, but they also had a unique connection to its resources.

This was Shannon's first encounter with a living underworld traveler. The delivery guy from Supernatural Delivery was dead.

Myla noticed Shannon said nothing the entire time. She thought about it and decided to offer the latter a piece of advice.

Though Cale had an annoying loose tongue and was arrogant, there was a reason he was selected to represent their school in the tournament as a newcomer.

"Though we're not on the same team, Shannon, I feel like I should warn you to be careful when you go against Cale. He's very strong," Myla said worriedly.

It wasn't Cale himself who was strong, but rather the deities backing him. Not only were there several, but they were also far more powerful than ordinary ones.

These deities were the reason Cale could act so arrogantly.

Shannon met Myla's gaze calmly and said, "It's fine. I'm quite strong too."
