“Blood...” Sabrina's lips quivered, struggling to string together coherent words. “So much blood... suicide... jumped...”
Did someone just leap to their death?
Allison was taken aback.
“Sabrina!” Just then, Brian stormed into the hospital room, scooping up the terrified Sabrina into his arms.
With a face full of concern, Brian gently soothed her, “Don’t worry, Sabrina. I’m here. You’re safe now...”
Sabrina shook uncontrollably, gripping Brian’s collar as tears streaked her pale face, clearly shaken to her core.
Allison was hit with a wave of guilt; she shouldn't have let Sabrina witness such a horrific scene. Judging by Sabrina’s appearance, she must have seen the gruesome aftermath up close. That’s bound to leave a deep emotional scar.
After calming Sabrina for a bit, Brian turned to Allison.
To Allison’s surprise, Brian looked barely any better than Sabrina.
Taking a deep breath, Brian slowly said, “Ben jumped... Grandma Eleanor had a heart attack and didn’t make it...”
Allison’s eyes widened in shock.
...
Joshua had just returned to the Fisher estate when he heard about Ben’s suicide. It happened right after he’d refused Ben’s request to see Chris.
A jump from the rooftop.
Grandma Eleanor was in the same hospital as Ben.
The news couldn’t be hidden; it was too much for her. The shock triggered a heart attack, and she couldn’t be revived.
Everything happened so fast.
