"Hey, Sabrina," Olivia nudged her friend subtly, giving Allison a knowing glance as she coughed, hinting that Sabrina should steer clear of certain topics.
Sabrina waved off the concern with a casual flick of her hand. "Oh, come on, it's been ages since the breakup. Our dear Allie is over it, aren't you, Allie?"
Allison chuckled, a hint of resignation in her smile. "Yeah, I've moved on. Honestly, I'm more interested in my career these days. Men just aren't on my radar."
"No worries, let me show you his photo. Might just change your mind," Sabrina teased.
"You still have his photo?" Olivia asked, surprised.
Sabrina scrolled through her phone, shrugging. "Not really. I saved it back in college, and it automatically synced to my cloud. I'm too lazy to clean it up, so it's still there."
Allison laughed softly. "That's a new one."
A few minutes later, Sabrina found Watson's picture and handed her phone to Allison. "Here, take a look at Watson. Handsome, right?"
Allison lowered her lashes, gazing at the photo.
The background looked like a library, with a young man sitting by the window, engrossed in a book, surrounded by shelves overflowing with books. The warm, golden sunlight highlighted his striking features—chiseled cheekbones, sharp eyes, a high-bridged nose. His looks were undeniably impressive.
Allison stared at the photo, momentarily lost. She felt a strange sense of déjà vu, like she'd seen him somewhere before.
Olivia leaned in for a peek, "How do you have this picture? Isn't that the university library? Have you been there?"
Sabrina replied, "Nah, it was saved from the confession page of the college next door. Some girl snapped it and posted it there."
"So, Allie, what do you think? Interested after seeing the photo? With a face like that, it's a shame he's a lawyer. He should be a celebrity! He's model material," Sabrina quipped.
Allison smiled, "I told you, I'm not interested in men right now."
Just as she finished speaking, a smooth male voice chimed in, "That's quite unfortunate."
Watson smiled gently and asked, "Mind if I join you?"
Sabrina gestured casually, "Feel free to take a seat."
Sabrina sat in the middle, with Allison and Olivia flanking her on either side. Watson pulled out a chair next to Allison and asked, "What were you talking about just now?"
"You," Sabrina answered with a cheeky grin.
Olivia added, "Allie is planning to open her own law firm, and I thought you two should meet. You've been practicing for over three years, right? Interested in becoming a partner?"
Watson turned to Allison, his eyes crinkling with a gentle warmth. "May I?"
Allison looked at his face, the sense of familiarity growing stronger by the moment.
