Joshua's lips were pressed into a thin line, his eyes dark and intense.
Allison's voice trembled with heart-wrenching sadness, "Joshua, you coward, why did you come if you aren't brave enough to face me?"
In an unnoticed corner, someone discreetly lifted a phone to capture the scene.
Olivia felt a pang in her heart seeing Allison so distressed. "Allie, you're drunk. Let's get you home to rest, okay?" Olivia gently guided Allison through the crowd towards the exit. Two bodyguards from the Duran family followed closely behind.

When Liam got the video, Chris was busy charming a new conquest. The private suite buzzed with the intoxicating mix of alcohol and the faint scent of smoke. Chris held the woman close, kissing her as her breaths became increasingly ragged. Liam stood quietly in the corner, trying to blend into the background, playing the part of an invisible, silent observer.
Chris was the type to indulge fully in his pleasures. Two hours later, it was all over. The woman lay on the sofa, her clothes disheveled. Chris, however, was fully dressed. With a lazy demeanor, he leaned back on the couch, lighting a cigarette, the smoke curling around his sharply defined features, giving him an air of untamed wildness.
Noticing that Chris was done, Liam stepped forward, ready to report. The woman wisely gathered her clothes and left the suite. "Chris, the shipment from California has been successfully secured."
Chris responded with a nonchalant "Hmm," before asking, "What about the Canada situation?"
"There was a snag with the meet-up. They ran into the cops, the deal was interrupted, and the goods were seized. But everyone got away safely."
A shadow of anger darkened Chris's features. "Useless idiots. Losing the goods and still having the nerve to come back?"
Liam remained silent.
"What's the status with the Merce project in Australia?"
Liam swallowed nervously and replied, "Since the project was terminated, both we and Merce Group have suffered significant losses. Fisher Corporation took advantage and has now acquired Merce. The paperwork is underway."
There was a thunderous crash as Chris kicked the long table over. "Joshua, one day I will make you pay back double!"
"Who?"
Liam clarified, "Allison's ex-boyfriend."
Chris's lips curled in a dismissive smile. "Never heard of him."
Liam explained, "Previously, Lillian used Joshua's whereabouts and insider information from the Fisher family to secure our investment. That investment later went to Reynolds Group, which is now a notable enterprise back home. Reynolds Group is still of use to us."
A flicker of disdain crossed Chris' eyes. "Anyone Lillian chose is bound to be useless, just another dumb fool."
"So, do you want to meet him?"
"A dog eager to curry favor with me can be taken out for a walk when I'm in a good mood."
