Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn) novel Chapter 230

"Yeah, wasn't it a brilliant idea to see in the New Year here?" Sabrina grinned mischievously.

Olivia nodded with a smile, "Absolutely!"

"Hey, where's Allie?" Sabrina glanced at the door and pulled out her phone. "Let me give her a call."

Just then, the door swung open.

Sabrina looked up, smiling. "I was just about to call you and—wait, what the heck?"

It wasn't Allison who walked in, but Joshua. And Megan.

Sabrina's smile vanished, replaced by a simmering anger. She demanded, "Who invited them?"

Olivia shook her head, signaling she had nothing to do with it.

George shrugged, also clueless.

Brian awkwardly chimed in, "Weren't you the one who said we should celebrate New Year's? I couldn't leave out my best buddy, could I?"

"Seriously, are you out of your mind?" Sabrina snapped. "Don’t you know what he did to Allie? He hooked up with a movie star! I put this whole thing together to cheer Allie up, and you bring Joshua? What were you thinking?"

"What?" Brian looked bewildered. "You never told me not to invite Joshua. We've been tight for over a decade..."

Brian rubbed his nose and sighed, "Don’t blow a gasket. A breakup’s just a breakup. We’re all in the same circle. We can’t just cut one of them off over this."

"Ha." Sabrina let out a sarcastic laugh. "Why not? I’ve got no interest in hanging out with Joshua. If it means cutting ties, then so be it!"

Brian knew the ins and outs of Megan and Joshua's relationship, unlike Sabrina. When the rumors first spread, Joshua had come clean with Brian and George. After all, in Oak Lake, a scandal involving its most prominent figures wouldn’t hit the media without someone's nod.

George had even warned Joshua to be careful, lest Allison get hurt and refuse to come back.

Facing Sabrina's fiery stance, Brian almost spilled the truth, but a look from Joshua stopped him.

Sabrina was bold and straightforward. She couldn’t keep a secret. If she knew, Allie would find out soon enough, and it’d ruin all their efforts.

Amid the rising tension, the door opened again.

"Sorry, I’m late. Got held up."

Allison walked in, her eyes meeting Joshua's, and her heart skipped a beat.
