Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn) novel Chapter 204

Pearl sat quietly, her face giving nothing away.

Kate, oblivious to Pearl's silence, continued her tirade. "I heard that car costs a fortune, like tens of thousands just for one. It's just a fancy sports car, right? Why would anyone pay so much for it? And did you hear about his fling with that social media influencer? The one who went viral recently? He was pretending to be single and got caught red-handed. Honestly, I'm glad you broke it off with him. You did the right thing, girl!"

"Cheers!" Kate raised her glass, clinking it against Pearl's with a hint of mockery in her eyes.

Ha! You think you can take me on? You're still too green for that.

Kate took a sip of her wine, plotting silently. Pearl's mocking vibe showed that people were gossiping about her, and Kate was determined to win Shawn over to shut them all up.

Monday morning rolled around, and Allison arrived at the law firm.

She had her arbitration papers and evidence for the London case all ready to go, planning to submit them to the employment tribunal today. Once everything passed review, they'd be heading to the district labor court.

Driving that flashy Bentley Continental Joshua gave her wasn't practical for work, so Allison usually opted for her low-key BMW when attending court or meeting clients.

There was no parking near the tribunal, and she parked in an open lot a short walk away. To get there, she had to cross a street.

Standing at the curb, she waited for the light to change.

Out of nowhere, a forceful shove from behind sent her sprawling forward. Caught off guard, Allison stumbled, too shocked to regain her balance.

The road ahead was bustling with traffic, and the pedestrian light was still red. Cars zoomed by, and one driver stared in horror, his car heading straight for Allison.

In that split second, it felt as if she could see death reaching out for her. But just in time, a strong hand yanked her back to safety.

The entire ordeal was over in a heartbeat!

The man stammered in a panic, "No, no, I really didn't mean it..."

With a sharp twist, the bodyguard dislocated the man's arm. "Ahhh!" The man screamed in agony.

The light turned green, and the crowd of onlookers crossed the street, leaving just the four of them behind.

The bodyguard spoke, "Ms. Allison, I saw him push you with my own eyes. It was deliberate."

Anger flared in Allison's eyes as she frowned, "Why did you do that?"

The man couldn't respond, his face twisted in pain.

"Alright, since you won't talk, I'll call the police."
