Allison playfully ruffled Joshua's hair, speaking to him in a teasing way as though he were a kid. "Come on now, whether we're planning our trip or shopping for supplies, it's more fun when we do it together. Plus, it's Saturday—don't you think your assistant deserves a day off?"
Joshua mumbled something, still caught up in their kisses.
Allison sensed things might get a bit too heated, and quickly nudged him away. "Alright, alright, I've almost finished planning. Let's head out and grab our supplies."
Joshua looked up with a hint of disappointment in his eyes.
Allison was taken aback. Did she just imagine it, or did she really catch a glimpse of disappointment in Joshua’s eyes? She just pushed him away a couple of times, but he seemed genuinely upset. Surely, she must have been seeing things. Joshua wasn't the kind to get upset so easily.
Later that afternoon, Allison and Joshua swung by an outdoor gear store to pick up some hiking equipment, then hit the supermarket for some fruits and snacks.
Allison was buzzing with excitement, snagging a bit of every snack and fruit she fancied.
Joshua didn’t stop her. At most, the backpack would weigh a bit more, and he might feel a tad tired tomorrow, but seeing Allison happy made it all worthwhile.
Allison snapped a photo and sent it to the group chat with Olivia and Sabrina.
Allison: [Hey, ladies, there's a meteor shower tomorrow night. Let's head to North Ridge Mountain to watch it. I've got everything sorted.]
Sabrina: [Wow! A meteor shower! Count me in!]
Olivia: [Sounds awesome.]
Sabrina: [I'll drag Brian to get some hiking gear! I want a black outfit so you can take killer hiking photos for me! Plus, I'm gonna make a reel. I'll shoot the first part in my pajamas, then switch to hiking gear for the rest. It's going to be epic!]
Allison: [No worries! I'm your go-to photographer.]
Olivia: [I'll see if my brother wants to join.]
Allison: [Let’s meet at 1 PM tomorrow at my place in Lakeside Residences.]
Olivia: [Okay.]
Downstairs, three cars were lined up.
Olivia and George were chilling in the back of a Maybach. Olivia flashed Allison a sweet smile. "Hey, Allie."
From the passenger seat of a black Bentley, Sabrina pumped her fist in excitement and shouted, "Everyone’s here! Let’s head out for the meteor shower!"
Joshua was behind the wheel of a black Cullinan today.
The convoy headed north, and reached the campsite in just over an hour. The campsite was nestled midway up North Ridge Mountain.
When they arrived, Lillian and her friends had only just gotten there themselves.
Joshua had reserved the entire site, so they had the place all to themselves.
As soon as the cars stopped, Lillian dashed over with a big smile, trying to link her arm with Joshua’s.
