"You're being obnoxious!"

Fiona rolled her eyes and leaned back in her seat, pretending to doze off. Her dark eyes flashed with a hint of menace, and as she closed them, she could clearly see the disbelief in Amy's eyes.

Did Fiona just hit her?

Clutching her stinging left cheek, now throbbing and swollen, Amy glared at Fiona and demanded, "What gives you the right to hit me?"

After so many years in the States, everyone who met her showed respect by calling her Abby. But ever since meeting Fiona, not only did she get called by her first name, now Fiona had the nerve to hit her too!

"Even if Jasmine is dead, I didn’t kill her! The Larkin family is nearly wiped out because of you, what more do you want?" Amy's raised voice echoed through the classroom, capturing the attention of every student still seated.

Suddenly, the students perked up, eager for the drama.

"Weren't Fiona and Amy best friends? How did it turn into this?"

"Who knows? Girls can be so unpredictable. But is there any truth to what Amy's saying?"

"Does Fiona really have something to do with the Larkin family's deaths? It seems unlikely; even if Fiona were some sort of superhero, she couldn't just waltz into the Larkin family and start killing people. Plus, the Larkin family has loads of bodyguards, and Fiona's just a college student. How could she pull off something like that?"

"I agree; Amy's probably just making things up. But to invent something this serious, she must be losing it."

As chatter filled the room, Fiona remained reclined in her chair, arms crossed over her chest, eyes half-closed, exuding an air of cool indifference.
