Fleeing the Nightmarish Father novel Chapter 31

“So you would have done the same for me?” I asked with pure amusement but the type of the person she is.

She would.

“We are the perfect couple before this world after all.”

Humming, she put her hand in the air and left the room for me to freshen up and none of us needed to know.

It meant Yes.

Later, Jared was released from the prison and I especially went to greet my sweet ‘friend’. How could I resist myself to not go?

“Well, well, welcome back, Jared.” I greeted with a mocking smirk, giving him a flower to lift his mood but he kept growling at me.

“Are you satisfied now? Because no matter what you do, she won’t return to you.” He hissed, snatching the flower and crushing it under his foot.

I chuckled darkly at his utter rage, resting my hands in my pockets so I could indulge in his fury properly, loving each second of it.

“I don’t want her back either.” I replied calmly.

“Then keep quenching your thirst of torturing us but I love Veronica and I won’t leave her at all cost.” He enunciated, turning to leave where his wife was waiting for him.

Obviously scared of me, she didn’t dare to come near at all.

“Ask her that too. Does she feel the same? If she could leave me for you then why not cheat on ‘you’ for another man?” I mocked, shifting my eyes to Veronica who gasped in horror and looked down.

Ah, still frightened of me.

“How dare you-”

He was about to hit me for provoking him but I warned with a threatening smile.

“Woah, calm down. You just came out of the prison. Do you want to go there again?” I asked, testing his patience, leaving him at a defeated point.

Curling his hands in a fist, he glared at me, telling me a truth I already know.

“You are heartless, Dariel Cannedy.”

“I know.”

Smirking, I wore my shades and walked away, leaving that pathetic man to go back to his useless woman.

The second my back turned on him, my poisonous smile was replaced with a scowl as I cursed under my breath and left in a spur of rage.

I hated seeing them together, laughing after betraying me.

I would ensure they would shed countless tears.

Shaking my head, instead of going back to work, I decided to have lunch at home. I came home early, humming to myself to lift my mood as well.

Wanting to give Saafia a jump scare, appearing out of nowhere to make her scream in dread. The thought made me smirk devilishly as I asked our butler.

“Where is your Madam?”

“She is in her studio for her art class. Mister Pete is here.”

The second he informed me, I rushed to see, realizing that I had never seen that room. What the hell she had been doing in the first place?

I had no idea what kind of art she was making.

“Sa-”

I opened the door quietly and saw her with that shady man I never liked.

Why the heck did she close the door?

“Tsk, tsk, not like this. Like this.”

“Okay…”

“I don’t trust ‘anyone’. If you think I would let a third person come between me and my woman a second time then I won’t.” I enunciated.

I had no intention of losing to anyone anymore.

“Sir, don’t bring me in your personal matters.” He sighed but it enraged me. How dare he act like this before me?

“Shut up.” I hissed and soon sighed, holding my chin, narrowing my eyes at him to wonder what I should do to teach everyone to not come near my possessions.

“Hmm… What should I do with you to teach you a lesson?” I trailed off, narrowing my eyes at him.

His eyes widened in horror, shaking his head in denial, moving back when my malicious aura began to surround me. He knew I won’t leave him this easily.

“N-No, Sir-”

“Ian.” I called my assistant dominantly, holding my head high as a dark smirk gradually crept on my features.

“Yes?”

“Close his work. I don’t want him teaching anyone ever again.” I ordered heartlessly.

“Yes, Sir.”

“No, no, Sir! Have mercy! I will be ruined!” He gasped.

Breaking into a sob to be losing his job for nothing but as if I care about a mere peasant.

He should have taken my warning seriously.

“Sir, please, I will be destroyed. Don’t do this. I did nothing. My career will die.”

He almost begged but I only arched an eyebrow to hear his pleading, motioning to Ian to throw him out as I whispered huskily with a wicked chuckle.

“So?”
