He flashed an insane hint, suppressing a sinister idea.
“W-What? Are you kidding me?”
He blinked in disbelief, jaw dropping that the woman he never paid heed to turned out to be his biological mother.
“That woman abandoned you, she left you alone to suffer and chose Dariel and Jacey over you. She is the one who did this to us,” He growled, slamming his hand down to display all the hatred he had been carrying.
“What? Why.. didn’t she come back to us then? Why did she do that? Was I unwanted?” Helder asked sadly.
A tear pricking in his eyes to fathom that his real Mother was before him but he couldn’t hug her and cry in her arms to tell her how much he missed her.
And Harry worsened Helder’s emotions, inducing hatred in his heart too by his next words-
“Yes. She hated you, she did this to us. But, you have to keep quiet about it for now,”
“I understand…”
“I know it must be hard but don’t worry, I will get our rights back, I will give you the love ripped from you,” Harry declared, rising from the seat, placing his hand over Helder’s head who was only bewildered.
“How? I don’t understand…”
“You will see,”
And Harry went too far in his resentment that Lark’s demise was not an accident rather… he planned to get him out of the way so that he and Tilda could be together once again and they become a ‘family’.
“NO!!”
Mr. Cannedy died and at his demise his whole family was devastated. His accident left a scar on Tilda’s heart, it weakened the happy family they were.
“How could this happen? You promised to return soon, why are you doing this to us, my love… Wake up, please!”
She sobbed, clutching his lifeless body, resting her head over it, not letting anyone take it away.
She considered her life with Lark her blessing, her beautiful future.
His demise scattered her felicity.
“Mama,”
The kids sobbed, afraid to go near her Mother who was screaming her anguish out. She entirely devoted herself to her husband, she couldn’t bear it.
“Lark…!”
The kids were worried for their mother who stopped eating, talking, finding no meaning to her life anymore when Lark was no longer with her.
And seeing her weakened state, Harry decided to utilize this chance and advanced on her.
“Don’t worry, Tilda, I am here for you. It’s going to be alright,” He whispered, placing his hand on her shoulder when she was constantly weeping.
“Harry..? What are you doing?”
She gasped, pulling away immediately when he touched her.
“I know he is no longer between us but, you don’t have to be vexed about anything. I am here, I will take care of you. I will give you all the love,” He whispered.
Her eyes widened in disgust, not wanting to think of any other man apart from her late husband.
“Are you out of your mind?! I just lost my husband and you are here ready to take his place. What is wrong with you?”
She growled in disbelief, pushing him away when he tried to corner her and was about to walk out of the room.
“What is wrong with me? What about you? You left our son to suffer and when I had put him out of our way, you were cowering in fear. What do you fear? Come, take my hand.” He growled back.
Yanking her wrists to his chest, frightening her at his obsessive demeanor that caused him to grow wild and lose himself.
“What…? You.. did this?”
He growled, giving the same resentment to Helder.
A year passed after Lark’s death and Harry didn’t stop. He started using emotional attacks on her when she resisted.
“Why are you ripping Helder from his love? What faults does he have? Okay, not as his mother, at least show some affection as an Aunt,”
“My connections with you and your family died the day my husband died. Stay away from us, Harry.” She declared, furiously getting out of the room.
She couldn’t forgive him for killing Lark.
Helder who was listening glanced at her. She was silent and not doing anything because of him, she wanted to throw Harry to jail because-
Why would Helder accept her as a mother now? Or, did he even know?
He only had Harry.
Rolling her eyes, not wanting to see hate in his eyes, she climbed down the stairs to leave, unintentionally hurting him.
“Tilda.”
“What?”
“If you left now, I swear, I will make your life a living hell for you and those damn children you are leaving me and my son for.” Harry threatened, not caring about anything.
“I am not afraid of you. My affair with you was a mistake. Helder is the result of my sins.” She declared with tears and left.
Evoking a fire in their hearts to show her a downfall no one could ever fathom.
They stole their property, took away their rights as Dariel was underage.
He almost threw them on the streets… Tilda went into depression.
