The pitch-black drone hovered silently in mid-air, its existence almost imperceptible unless one looked closely.
"This drone..." Charlotte looked at Sharon in astonishment. Most drones in the market emitted a loud buzzing noise and flashed lights, so it was rare to see one this quiet.
Sharon raised an eyebrow. "This drone was specially modified by Ben for me."
Charlotte wore an expression that said, "I should have guessed."
Without further ado, Sharon controlled the drone and slowly approached the source of the fire.
Although everyone's expressions were somewhat serious, they didn't initially think this was a grave matter. They assumed someone had mistakenly ended up on the island.
However, as the drone inched closer to the source of the fire, the expressions on their faces grew increasingly solemn.
The place emitting the firelight was a rocky hill, and within the hill was a two-meter-high cave. The firelight was emanating from inside the cave.
Furthermore, parked at the cave entrance was a modified jeep, with four burly men squatting by the cave entrance, each holding a gun.
As the drone approached, a stubble-bearded man noticed it and looked in its direction with sharp perception. Fortunately, Sharon reacted quickly, immediately lowering the drone's altitude to avoid being spotted.
"What's going on?" another man asked.
The stubble-bearded man stared at the forest for a moment, then shook his head. "Nothing, maybe I'm just too nervous."
"Don't worry. Those people are probably still enjoying themselves in the villa area right now. How could they possibly discover us in the forest?" another man reassured him.
The stubble-bearded man considered this and realized it made sense, so he stopped paying attention to the forest.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, Sharon had a grim expression.
These people were well-equipped and acted very organized; it was clear they weren't up to any good.
"You're not about to tell us there really is a treasure, are you?" Sharon raised an eyebrow at Charlotte.
Charlotte shook her head. "There's definitely no treasure on the island."
Before Sharon could breathe a sigh of relief, Charlotte continued, "But when I bought the island, there were rumors that there was a gold mine on it."
"What the hell?" Sharon looked at Charlotte in astonishment as if he had just heard something incredible.
"Gold mine," Charlotte repeated without expression. "Back then, Derek even competed with me for this island."
As she mentioned it, Sharon also recalled vaguely. At that time, Charlotte was bidding for this island, and Derek intervened.
He had originally thought Derek was just trying to boost Vivian's status. He hadn't imagined there was this reason behind it.
