Alpha's Regret: False Mate, True Luna novel Chapter 56

I hadn’t expected that this little girl was actually his niece.

I explained briefly: “She fell into the hot spring pool. I happened to see it and pulled her out.”

Evan paused, his tone low but sincere: Thank you.”

“Don’t mention it.” I waved my hand, You should help her change into dry clothes first, so she doesn’t catch cold.”

Evan nodded, looking at me as if he wanted to say something. But his little niece in his arms was crying heartbreakingly, her whole body trembling–clearly

terrified.

He had to temporarily put aside those words, softly comforting the child in his arms while nodding at me, then quickly carrying her toward the elevator.

I stood there and watched for a moment. Seeing that the situation was handled, I turned and went to the massage area, preparing to continue enjoying this rare

moment of relaxation.

I changed into a bathrobe and entered the massage area, where the therapist was already waiting for me.

I lay on the comfortable bed, closed my eyes, and tried to relax, pushing this series of unexpected events to the back of my mind.

However, the peace didn’t last long.

“Well, if it isn’t Dr. Windsor?

A familiar, deliberately high–pitched female voice rang out outside the room, carrying mockery and fake friendliness.

I opened my eyes and turned to look. There was Ashley standing at the doorway, wearing the hotel’s custom silk bathrobe, her makeup perfectly done, holding glass of iced lemon water and smiling with utter insincerity.

‘What a coincidence.” She walked in, looking around, “Did you come alone?

I glanced at her indifferently, my tone calm: “Yes, alone. Is there a problem with that?”

She smiled and sat on the empty massage chair next to me.

‘Aren’t you lonely coming alone? I came with Ferris. He’s been very busy with work lately, but he still made time to accompany me.”

was too lazy to respond and closed my eyes, pretending not to hear.

ust then, a soft voice spoke up: “Auntie Aurora~”

was startled and turned to look. It was the little girl who had fallen into the water earlier–Liz.

Uncle asked me to find you. He said he wants to invite you to dinner.” She said in her sweet, childlike voice, full of dependence and affection.

The corners of my mouth lifted slightly, and I was about to answer when a sharp, grating voice suddenly rang out.

“Oh my, quite capable, aren’t you? Without Ferris, you immediately found yourself another wild wolf?”

Ashley sneered softly, “It seems Dr. Windsor recovers from heartbreak quite quickly. You change men so frequentlycan this little girl’s uncle satisfy you in
