Alpha's Regret: False Mate, True Luna novel Chapter 34

I had always tried to build good relationships with several of Ferris’s personal secretaries, especially beta Simon.

He was Ferris’s most trusted subordinate and one of the few people in the pack who knew about my relationship with Ferris.

Initially, when he learned I had entered the treatment center, he worried I would turn the place upside down.

But the result was beyond his expectations.

I worked hard to prove my abilities to him and everyone around Ferris.

But now there was no need.

I was tired.

Now I just wanted to go home early.

I looked at Simon and said coldly. “I want to resign. I’m leaving.”

Simon hadn’t expected me to refuse so decisively.

His face darkened, thinking I was using my status to demand special treatment: “Dr. Windsor, please correct your work attitude. It’s not your home, you don’t get to do whatever you want!”

picked up my bag, maintaining the same attitude: “If you’re dissatisfied, you can fire me right now.”

You-

gathered my things and left.

¡imon couldn’t believe I had actually just walked away like that.

What are you spacing out about?” A passing colleague patted his shoulder.

Don’t you think Ms. Windsor seems like a different person lately?”

he person paused: “Not really… she’s always been gentle. What’s wrong?”

imon also thought that I had worked so hard to establish my footing at the treatment center–how could I really be willing to leave?

le scoffed: “Nothing, probably just trying some new strategy of playing hard to get. Let’s go.”

fter leaving the treatment center, I went straight home.

Don’t move.

The man wore all black, a mask, with his cap pulled low so I couldn’t see his face clearly, but his eyes looking at me were cold and sharp.

raised both hands and didn’t move again.

The man took away my bag and phone: “I won’t hurt you. After you take me where I need to go, you can leave.

But if you secretly mindlink anyone or use any means to call for help, the silver bullet in my gun will definitely take your life.
