The dashboard lit up, and the low, sexy engine sound awakened like a beast, making the air tremble slightly.
I flicked my finger, jingling the key chain–a silver–blue custom badge, the exclusive symbol for Maserati limited edition owners.
“It is my car,” I said calmly, “just picked it up.”
Ashley’s smile froze like she’d been slapped, watching helplessly as I sat in the car she’d dreamed of but could never afford.
You… where did you get the money? This car, you’ve got to be kidding…” Her voice was weak, no longer so confident.
I glanced at her and smiled slightly: “Didn’t you just say you wanted to take photos? Go ahead and take them now. After all, you’re this close to it–this might be your only chance in this lifetime.”
Ferris stood to the side with an iron–dark expression, saying nothing, but the sinister look in his eyes almost radiated murderous intent.
You said I was following you?” I looked at him, my gaze indifferent. “Sorry, I’ve been very busy lately. I don’t have that kind of free time.”
As soon as I finished speaking, I stepped on the gas without hesitation. The Maserati shot out of the parking space like a streak of light, the tires creating a soft ound against the ground, the speed smooth yet graceful.
Ashley’s long hair was caught in the wake, and her face instantly flushed red.
And I didn’t look back at them even once.
‘omorrow was the last day of work handover–I still needed to go to the hospital.
‘erris hadn’t come home these past few days, obviously still holding a grudge against me.
He was probably staying with Ashley.
didn’t mind. I packed my things and temporarily moved to an apartment outside the villa, beginning my life living alone.
he next day around 2 PM, I had just finished a post–surgical rehabilitation session and was organizing instruments when I heard suppressed whispered iscussions outside.
Did you hear? Alpha might be coming to our treatment center later.”
Really?”
Really. Don’t you know what everyone’s saying outside–that Ashley is the Luna that Alpha Ferris has been secretly married to for years?”
To.
n the hallway, when I encountered Ferris, my steps paused slightly.
He had changed clothes.
Not the same outfit as this morning.
Thinking this, my expression momentarily became dazed.
I thought of his gentleness and care toward Ashley, and his impatience and coldness toward me. I couldn’t help but clench my fists and looked away.
