Chapter 22
Lilly
I open the closet and it’s a whole other room. Like a full–sized room and it’s completely filled with very expensive piece. How do I know they’re expensive? Because there are tags on everything. He bought all of this, for me. When? Why? Oh gods, I don’t have the energy for another brain battle. Nope, I’m just going to push that to the side for now. I find a pair of black silk pajamas. The material feels heavenly on my skin. I make my way out of the wardrobe. Ignoring the bed and heading for the balcony. The bed. Ugh, I’m going to have to talk to him. He’s going to think I’m pathetic, but he has a right to know before he goes thinking for any longer than I’m some magical gift of God or some shit and wants to keep me forever.
Strong hands wrap around my waist as I’m leaning around the railing looking out to the night sky.
“Are you okay amore?”
I sigh. “Luciano, I think we should talk. There are some things you need to know about me that are important before you go screaming to the world that you
want me…”

There’s a knock at the door and I wonder who the heck is up at god knows what hour in the morning this is. Luciano excuses himself to answer and an elderly woman pushes a food cart into the room.
“I don’t know what makes you think I want to be up at this hour young man, but I am not impressed!” she scolds him whilst whacking him on the arm. He playfully dodged her attacks and raised his hands in surrender. “Molly, darling, please have mercy!”
The sight was something to behold. I couldn’t help but to giggle and the woman, Molly stopped her attacks and gasped wildly. “LUCIANO MARCELLO DONATELLO! You brought a girl home!?”
His smile was massive, and he was clearly loving this.
“Molly, this is my angel”
“Uh hi…” I say feeling a little shy now.
“A girl! A very pretty girl! Oh FINALLY! I have been waiting for this day all of his life!” she says excitedly whilst pulling me in for a tight hug and kissing my checks.
“I thought you were just very hungry, Luciano, but this, this is very much an acceptable reason to get me out of bed to cook! I am Molly, dear, anything you need you come to me. Especially if this troublemaker is giving you a hard time and I’ll teach him a lesson!”
I giggle at how she pinches his cheeks like a baby. Molly joins us as we eat on the balcony, she had made a lovely Italian pasta, and she tells me stories of a young and rebellious Luciano that makes me long for a mother like her. By the time we finish the sun is rising and I am completely drained of energy- Luciano says he will be back shortly and excuses himself to make some phone calls. He tells me to get into bed and get some rest, I don’t even hesitate to grab time comforter and a pillow and take it to my closet. I’m currently on autopilot at this point.

I head to my office and begin making phone calls and sorting out a schedule for Luca so he can fill in for me for the day. I need to be with my angel. I also really need sleep; this was not how I imagined our first night or a I guess day together would be. Luen walks in with a cup of coffee yawning.
“Do you have any idea what time it is man? The sun literally just woke.”
“So, you should be awake too I need you to handle things today, I haven’t gotten any sleep and your Donna is upstairs.”
He spits out his coffee on to the floor.
Fork, man really!? She’s here? Wow! Congratulations man, how did you manage that!?” There’s the energetic golden retriever.
“Long story, ended up at Ronaldo’s last night. Made a deal with ber, now she’s here.”
You went into the ring last night? Fuck, hen many did you put in hospital?”
“Can you stop spitting that shit on my floor?”
I get to our room and stop dead on my tracks. Where the hell is she? The comforter is gone. I look towards the closets and open hers. There she is, snuggled. up and snoring on the floor. Fuck. I run my hand through my hair. She said she wanted to talk last night. Is this what she wanted to talk about? Dam, now 1 wish I made Molly leave so she could tell me why she feels the need to sleep there. Its obvious it’s not the place that matters. I thought maybe it was just that shitty hotel she was staying at, maybe she felt unsafe there, but she’s here with me, and all my men, she shouldn’t feel unsafe…I stare at her a moment longer before I turn back around and quietly shut the door.
I’m back at my office in no time and enter to see Laca with his feet on the desk and files in hand. He raises an eyebrow at me.
