Chapter 135
Isla
Holy, mother fucking, shit, balls, Nico, Okay, so maybe I should have done my research with who I was playing with. Maybe 1 should have put two and two together when I went to his house and saw his clearly armed men, or his massive mansion or the way he commanded people with his presence. I’m struggling hard to keep my heart from beating out of my chest. right now. Thankfully he doesn’t seem interested in putting our dirty little secret. Thank God.
This meal is delicious, Mrs Donatello, I must ask your chef for the recipe. Nico’s dominating voice filters through my internal monologue.
“Ah of course, well you may ask her right now. My daughter prepared this evening’s meal, she’s quite talented. My mother smiles at me and then mouths ‘good job, when no one is looking.
“Is that so? Hmm, a woman of many talents. Nico replies and surprisingly none of the men in the room scold him for the clear compliment he has just thrown my way.
“I would be more than happy to share the recipe with you, Mr Capald
“Nico, please, call me Nico.” He smirks my way and once again, nothing from the men in the room. Instead, when I glance around, I see my father’s eyes are filled with something more akin to gratitude. I guess this deal, whatever it is, must be really important.
Mason doesn’t look at me once during dinner. Bastard. It appears that his lap is more interesting. So much for all these feelings, he claimed to have had. Once the first course is finished and the maids clear the table, I excuse myself to check on the preparations for the main. I slip into the kitchen and ask a few of the workers how things are going. I’m not really too worried, I’ve been planning this for days with them and they know the steps and directions well enough. What I really needed was a second to slip away. The alcohol with dinner just isn’t enough and Mia and I had finished off the good stuff at her place a few days ago. I’d gotten some pills from Sebastion at school but after I had tasted Nico’s stuff, well nothing else was really hitting right now and I was feeling like I was coming down, hard. I needed fresh air so help cool off the building sweat and clear my head before I headed back in to play the perfect daughter. Thankfully most of the staff turned a blind eye to me so when I patted Geoff’s arm, the head chef and told him I was just ducking out for a few, he simply nodded and went back to his work. I slipped out the small side door, leaving it ajar and leaning against the cool bricks, taking deep breaths and allowing myself a minute to relax.
cking shut has me opening my eyes and landing straight onto none other than Nico.
The sound of the door clicking
“Well isn’t this a surprise.” He smirks down at me, leaning himself against the door and crossing his arms…
“Is it though? Or did you know who I was when we met?”
“I actually had no clue the little temptress who caught my eye was the Donatello Princess, but it didn’t take me long to
find out.”
“What are you doing here, Nico?” I ask cautiously.
*Your father needs an alliance. It wouldn’t hurt me either. It would also work in my favour, but he also has something I
Want.”
“Dare I ask what?” I squint at him.

on, I hear the chef has prepared a lovely mali course.” He holds out his arm and I take It. I’m not sure why. I’m not sure how I feel about his confession. I’m not sure how my father’s or brothers would feel about that either…but something about his confidence to not give a fuck about how they feel about it, that does something for me. In a world like mine, it’s attractive to think someone would risk their life for me.

Isla left the table a good ten minutes ago. Nico left eight minutes ago. Not that I’m counting or anything, but when they come back, her fucking arm is linked in his and they’re laughing like they’re sharing some sort of intimate joke. Mother fucker. I clock Hunter and Kaiden’s reaction to it. Their jaws are set firm, but they say nothing. Meanwhile her father’s, well they look actually pleased. Don raises his eyebrow at Donna with a smirk as if to say, “Took how great she’s doing scoring us brownie points.” If only he would grant me that same pleasure. He pulls out her dom chair for her and I don’t miss the moment his hand flits across her shoulder as he moves to his own. Well actually it’s my chair. Thats where | should be sitting. I’m always next to her. Dinner conversations are kept light and free from business, Donna telling stories about our family and her children. Nice seems too interested in anything that has to do with Isla and she sure as hell doesn’t shy away from it either. Her bloody cheeks are practically burning with that cute little blush. Once dinner is finally over Don stands to direct us into his office.
“I think it’s time we move on to the more formal part of the evening. Gentlemen.” He ushers us to the door. I follow Kalden and Hunter, not before I chance a look over my shoulder to see the prick kissing Isla’s hand again. “The meal was lovely, Miss Isla, thank you. Mrs Donatello, it was a pleasure.” He doesn’t kiss her hand though. At least he’s smart enough on that end. Kaiden turns to Hunter and I before the others have caught up as we all wait outside Don’s office. He crosses his arms and lowers his voice.
“Okay, anyone else here feel like that smooth talking dick is trying to lay something on my sister?”
Hunter is quick to close the gap between us. I take a step forward as that shit, right?”
