Chapter 114
Ariana
I wake to the sound of crying. My babies! It’s such a beautiful sound that sets my nerves of edge as much as it calms me. My babies need me. I let my eyes adjust to the dim lighting, looking around the room I see all three of my men sleeping uncomfortably in chairs. I wonder if they’ve done this every night since I’ve been out. They look terribly uncomfortable and the bags under their eyes let’s me know they’re definitely exhausted. Too exhausted to even hear the two screaming boys wiggling around in their cots. I sit up slowly, feeling a slight pain through my stomach. 1 reach out for the cots and pull them toward the bed. “Hello, my little hell raisers.” I coo at them, letting them hold my fingers. Kaiden brings my finger to his mouth and begins to suckle before he releases it with another screeching cry.
“You’re hungry, aren’t you?” I adjust the pillows behind me into my lap, pulling both boys onto me, undoing to hospital gown and letting it fall to my waist. My nipples are reacting to the sounds of my children, already leaking with milk. “Okay boys, now be gentle with me…” I whisper to them, adjusting their little bodies slightly. Kaiden finds his mark immediately and his little gums grip hard around the bud. I watch as his little cheeks begin to move and feel the pull of milk. Looking down at Hunter I see his bright green eyes staring up at me, almost like he’s asking for permission. I giggle at him, “It’s okay, there’s more than enough for you too.” I coax him to my breast and he gently beings to move his mouth around in search of milk. “There you go, baby.”
I look up to the third cot as the boy’s feed. Isla lays there wide awake, looking over at me, not making a sound. She’s just content with being here. Kaiden and Hunter finish feeding after a good ten minutes or so and burping them is easy enough. It doesn’t take long at all for them to fall back to sleep and I move my little girl closer who’s still patiently waiting her turn. “Hey Princess. Are you hungry?” Her little body wiggies slightly as I pull her to my chest. She settles in peacefully suckling away as she holds my finger. “You know you’re going to be one very spoilt, and very protected little girl, right? but it’s okay, I’ll teach you how to get around all these men so you can live a little too.”
My children, oh how funny life can be. I have children. If it’s the last thing I do on this Earth, I’m going to love them, love them hard and real and honestly. My children will grow up in this world, but they won’t turn out like me. I won’t allow them to see the things I had to. No, this is my chance to make things right.
Luciano.
I woke up startled. I think that’s the first time I’ve slept a full night since the boys were born. Even with the guys and I rotating who would do the night times with them, it’s still been impossible to stay asleep through Hunter and Kaiden’s cries. Shit, the kids! I jump out of the chair, and I’m met with Luca’s hand on my shoulder.
“Hey brother, it’s okay. Look.” He smiles at me. Sitting on the bed is Ariana and the babies. She has her legs spread wide as a barrier for them as she dresses them. The boys are dressed in fluffy teddy bear onesies on the bed, and Ariana is adjusting a little pink bow on Isla’s head, she’s dressed in a princess pink onesie with a tutu. The sight of it pulls at my heart strings.
“Good morning sleepy head.” Ariana smirks at me.
“Mi amore.” I smile at her.
“We’re ready to go home now.”
I frown. “I don’t think the doctor would approve of that. You’ve only just woken up from a coma, your body needs to rest, to recover. You need to be monitored and cleared when the time is right.”
“I don’t care what the doctor thinks. We’re ready to go.” She states firmly,
Tony enters the room with a tray of coffees and some paperwork under his arm.
“What’s that?” I ask pointing to it.
“Discharge papers.” He shrugs. “She wants to go home. We’re going home.”
“Ugh, you guys are always ganging up on me.”
Luca snorts. “Don’t tell me you’re not dying to sleep in a real bed. Come on man, Camilla will keep an eye on the girls. It’ll be fine, at least we will all be more comfortable.”
I roll my eyes.
“Okay, majority rules. Let’s go home.”
