She pulled her lips into a smile: “Mom, let’s stay away from Kieran and Roschelle from now on.”

Tamika’s tears fell instantly: “I thought, I thought even if Kieran didn’t like you, he wouldn’t do this.”

Alaricka grabbed the edge of the table tightly, forcing herself to smile: “No, Ms. Wright, don’t worry, I was fine.”

Reyna asked a few more questions, but Alaricka didn’t show even the slightest flaw, all the way until they hung up.

Alarieka put away her phone: “Mom, it’s late, go to sleep.”

Tamika said anxiously, “Take care of your wounds before you sleep, don’t let them get worse.”

Alarieka was just about to nod when the doorbell at the entrance rang.

She grabbed the blanket around her and told Tamika to get the door.

Alarieka had her back to the door and just heard Tamika’s voice, surprised and barely hiding her anger: “Mr. Argent’s assistant?”

The assistant said, “Mr. Argent told me to bring the medicine. These were all for Ms. Huston.”

Alarieka sat on the couch and turned her head to look over.

The assistant who came this time wasn’t the one who took her to Spark Club tonight. It was another assistant who just did things by the book. His attitude toward her was so–so.

The assistant handed the medicine bag to Tamika and said calmly, “Take it.”

Tamika grabbed the medicine bag angrily and locked the door:

“Alarieka, come on, let’s put on the medicine.”

Tamika’s face changed: “What’s wrong?”

“Mom, there was a trash can and a pharmacy downstairs. You went to throw these away, then went to the pharmacy to buy some medicine.”
