“Hospital? You were sick?!”

She told Jaylene, in just a few words, what Rhett had done at the Argent’s villa and what Rhett had accused her of.

Jaylene listened, her eyes slowly widening, then she clapped her hands and said angrily:

“Rhett dared to do that, he was actually that kind of person?! And he even accused you?!”

Alarieka nodded, held her fist to her lips, and coughed a few times. “So I wanted to ask you for a favor.”

“I remembered you were close with Rhett, so I wanted to ask if there was anything going on in his family that needed money urgently?”

“Rhett’s parents got divorced because his dad was abusive. His mom had been a housewife with no income since they got married, so when they divorced, the court gave him to his dad.”

“Rhett was a filial kid. After he found out his mom had stomach cancer, he always planned to do odd jobs to pay for her treatment, but his mom was already in the late stage of stomach cancer and couldn’t be saved.”
