The girl hesitated a bit: “What’s wrong with your voice?”

Alarieka coughed a few times: “It’s fine, go ahead.”

The girl said, “I only told you because of this. You should come to school right now. Ms. Wright was about to get fired by the principal because she made you the host without permission, and all that stuff happened. The principal was really mad and said someone had to be held responsible.”

Alarieka lowered her voice and asked, “Why did you fire Ms. Wright? I did this, it had nothing to do with Ms. Wright!”

The principal looked impatient: “You still have the energy to stand up for her here. You’d better think about yourself. The process to expel you is already underway. After a while, you won’t need to come to school anymore.”

About persuading someone to quit, Alarieka didn’t feel any pressure at all.

She did it all by herself and took the blame alone. Reyna was just dragged into it for no reason and really shouldn’t have been punished.

Alarieka’s eyes were red and she clenched her fists: “Principal, if I went to clear things up, could you not fire Ms. Wright?”

The principal sneered, “What does this have to do with you now? Ms. Whitaker already cleared things up online, you’re useless now, just get lost.”

“I really didn’t know where you got the guts to mess with Ms. Whitaker. Ms. Whitaker had Mr. Argent behind her. Mr. Argent took care of everything for her. What did you have?”

Alarieka wanted to say something else, but Reyna rushed in, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her out.

In the corner of the classroom building, Alarieka kept her head down and couldn’t even look Reyna in the eye.

“Sorry, Ms. Wright, it was my fault you got in trouble. I’ll go beg the principal not to fire you.”

“These were all things I did. Whatever the principal wanted me to do, I would cooperate.”

Reyna was silent for a while and sighed, “It’s no use asking the principal. Don’t go. If I’m fired, then so be it. I’ll find another job.”
