Chapter 20
Before he could finish speaking, Alaricka tossed the document into Kieran’s lap. “Keep this thing yourselves. If you believe it, be my guest.”
Her tone dripped with sarcasm. Even Jaume frowned.
He couldn’t help thinking, “No wonder Mr. Argent prefers Ms. Whitaker to her.
“Ms. Whitaker would understand Mr. Argent and tenderly remind him not to wear him out. And she would believe the investigation results.
“On the other hand, Alarieka is disagreeable, insensible, silly, and full of herself. On what ground did she doubt the investigation report?
“If I were Mr. Argent, I’d choose the gentle and kind–hearted Ms. Whitaker, too.”
Kieran looked at her and asked coldly, “What do you mean?”
Alarieka didn’t want to argue with Kieran over the issue of drugging. No matter what she did, nothing would change.
Kieran always chose to defend Roschelle.
Alarieka turned to look out the car window. “I don’t want to go to your place. Let me out, or take me back to the Argent’s villa.
After a moment, Kieran let out a faint snort. “Look at you, getting bold.”
Alarieka looked at him calmly. “So, what’s your choice?”
Kieran stared at her coldly, like a beast lurking in the dark.
His lips slowly curled up into a faint smile.
“You were the one who was so eager to live in my place, and now you
want to go back to the Argent’s villa,” Kieran said. “Things don’t always work as you wish.
“Alaricka, you don’t have a say in making a choice here.”
Alaricka gritted her teeth and glared at Kieran.
In the end, she was taken back to Kieran’s apartment.
She stood at the entrance of the apartment reluctantly.
She clearly remembered that this was the house Kieran had bought long ago when he and Roschelle were dating. He prepared to live here with Roschelle after they got married.
It represented Kieran and Roschelle’s love.
Alaricka and Nina were locked here in her previous life. They were unable to go out and forced by Kieran to watch videos and photos of Kieran, Roschelle, and their two sons.
She was forced to know who Kieran really loved.
During that time, Roschelle would sometimes come to stay here.
Whenever Roschelle came, Alarieka and Nina could only be locked in a small room with no light or entertainment.
It was very quiet, so quiet that she could hear Roschelle, Kieran, and their sons‘ laughter.
She still remembered Nina crying in her arms. Nina’s vocal cords even

got hurt.
Later, this house was abandoned by Kieran.
Kieran bought another big villa as his and Roschelle’s wedding house.
Kieran said, “She deserves a better house. This one is not good enough for her.”
Later, this house became Alaricka’s prison.
Standing at the door, she saw the small room at the end of the corridor. She spent a long time there.
All her most terrible days happened in this room.
