The amount that could make Rhett do something like this definitely wasn’t small. It must have been a number big enough to impress Rhett.
The police said, “We already checked. None of his relatives‘ accounts that we found had any suspicious sources of money.”
Alarieka paused for a moment.
With no evidence, the police had no right to hold her, so Alarieka left
soon.
Kieran pulled her into the Rolls–Royce and said, “Go back to the Argent’s villa.”
Alarieka struggled to get out of the car, Kieran locked all the doors, and soon drove the car onto the road.
Alarieka just felt like there was too much drama in the Argent’s villa and really didn’t want to go back.
“What did you go there for?”
Kieran didn’t answer and just silently drove the car to the Argent’s villa.
Alarieka got off the car with Kieran.
The Argent’s villa was really different now compared to before.
There were cute, pink stuffed toys in the living room and in every corner. Those were Roschelle’s toys. The maids working in the kitchen were whispering something.

“Be careful, this was soup for Ms. Whitaker.”
In the past, only part of the living room had carpet. Now, almost every area had soft carpet, and even some sharp corners, like the table corners, had soft things stuck on them to prevent bumps.
There were signs everywhere in the villa that Roschelle had been carefully taken care of.
Alarieka stood in the living room, feeling like she didn’t fit in with this villa she had lived in for five years.
She stood on the living room carpet, her cold eyes looking at Kieran’s back: “Where’s my phone?”
Kieran pointed to a spot on the couch, and Alarieka walked over and picked up the phone from between the couch cushions.
I pressed the phone’s power button, but the screen didn’t light up. Sure enough, it was out of battery.
Alarieka put her phone away: “Nothing much, I’ll get going first.”
“Wait a second.”
Roschelle’s voice came from upstairs.
Alarieka looked up and saw Roschelle standing at the door of the room next to Kieran’s. She had a gentle smile on her face, was holding her lower back, and carefully came down the stairs.
Kieran walked over, took Roschelle’s arm, and carefully helped her to the living room.
Roschelle sat on the couch and said softly, “I remember you had a fever, so you went to the hospital for an IV, right?”

She smiled gently, but there was obvious pride and provocation from Alaricka in her eyes.
“It was me who asked Kier to bring you back. Kier, seriously, did he not talk to you nicely again? Let me apologize for him. By the way, the kitchen lady made chicken soup today, you can come and try some.”
Alarieka thought Roschelle didn’t need to.
Kieran only had her and the kid in his heart and eyes, there was no place for her at all.
There was no need to rush and show off Kieran’s affection for her to her. She didn’t want to compete, and she didn’t care to.
She was just about to say no when the maid behind her put two bowls of chicken soup on the coffee table.
The maid was still mumbling something to Roschelle.
“Ms. Whitaker was really too kind. A woman with such a nasty mind, and she still brought her chicken soup. She might not even deserve to drink the soup.”
The smile in Roschelle’s eyes grew wider, and she pretended to be considerate, saying, “Sorry, Alarieka, she just cared about me too much. Don’t mind her.”
Alarieka watched the maid and Roschelle, one playing good cop, the other bad cop, almost trampling all her reputation and dignity into the ground.
She curled her lips, sarcasm in her eyes: “Since this chicken soup is so precious, I won’t drink it. I’ll leave it all for Ms. Whitaker.”
“My illness wasn’t serious, I was almost better, but Ms. Whitaker really needed to take good care of her pregnancy.”
